Mr Beast's trans friend Messaged 13yo

Mr Beast's (Youtuber) best friend who somewhat recently (last few years or so I think, leaving his wife and children) came out as trans has now been found to have been messaging at least one minor inappropriately.

Joking about "hentai addiction", and other sexual "edgy jokes".

(They were "jokes" according to the victim, as the victim seems to feel that they are not a victim and Kris Tyson has done nothing wrong - Even though ofc we all know that victims who are minors will many times believe that they are not victims.
Am sure we've all been teens once who were flattered and smitten with an older guy and didn't' realise until we were older or had children of our own how wrong and creepy it was despite it being "like omg SO cool!" at the time...)

I was thinking of looking it all up on the fruit farm.

UtopiaPlanitia · 08/08/2024 17:48

The Farmers are all over this new development with the usual levels of detail and discussion, Eresh

I’m inclined to find it very worrying that this YouTube channel has now had two men associated with it being alleged to have had inappropriate (and potentially criminal) associations with children/teenagers. I also hope that law enforcement are taking any complaints seriously.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 08/08/2024 17:49

Great, thanks there's my evening reading tonight then! And yes, I completely agree.

annejumps · 08/08/2024 18:08

I recall reading the other day that Mr. Beast is worth $500 million and that a survey showed that 70% of Gen Zers know who he is. In the US he recently had a meal deal promo at the chicken chain Zaxby's.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 08/08/2024 18:14

My DSC were surprised when I said I knew who he was, when their Dad had never heard of them. I didn't indicate why, obviously!

Egeol · 08/08/2024 19:07

This is the original video that the one above is covering, it’s long but honestly worth a watch for the interview with the former employee

Bumping as there is a new installment to this story.

Claims have now been made about a MrBeast employee known as 'Delaware' or 'Zorro'.

Thank you for raising awareness of this.

Shocking turn of events in Mr Beast-land.

It has been said he’s deleting evidence in relation to the Chris-Ava incident and now he’s accused of employing a paedo and even hiding his identity!

I cannot fathom that so many men are ‘attracted’ to children/minors… What the fuck is wrong with them?!

UtopiaPlanitia · 18/09/2024 18:11

It’s like you said on another thread, Arabella: a fish rots from the head.

Alleged 'climate of misogyny and sexism' including secual harassment.

Thanks for posting, I'll go and read it now.

lcakethereforeIam · 18/09/2024 18:52

No mention in the BBC article that the alleged groomer is a tw.

ArabellaScott · 18/09/2024 18:55

'Ava Kris Tyson was accused by other YouTubers of sending inappropriate messages to the minor when she was 20. She denied accusations of grooming.'

Gosh, look. Women abusers used to be so rare, too.

RainWithSunnySpells · 18/09/2024 19:01

It's so insidious.

localnotail · 18/09/2024 19:45

I really, really hope Mr Beast had no knowledge of this and has nothing to do with any of this shit.

nauticant · 18/09/2024 19:57

You might be interested to know why Mr Beast referred to one of his friends as Delaware.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 18/09/2024 20:01

It's discussed upthread, at the beginning of August.

WarriorN · 19/09/2024 06:45

Why the hell are newsbeat the only team covering this? Parents need to be aware

YouTube kids is seen as a type of cbbc.

Even my latest safeguarding update at work included the fact that it's not safe.

MrBeast is called the internet's nicest man - now he faces 54-page lawsuit www.bbc.com/news/articles/ckgn8d04kdko

WarriorN · 22/09/2024 08:01

On phrase in article:

The point is: YouTubers tend to be forgiven quickly.

lcakethereforeIam · 22/09/2024 08:45

Article seems to avoid using pronouns for Tyson. In a quick read you'd be forgiven for having the impression that the contestants were still being held captive.

I suspect many of his fans will dismiss the complainants as sore losers and gold diggers. Depends on what's been redacted and how big the story gets.

I've never watched his shows. I've only heard of him because a YouTuber my kids watched was in a competition he concocted and then threads on Tyson on MN. I dismissed him as someone who's very generous with other people's money.

Adding this article to the thread:

Interestingly, Ava Kris is described without any pronouns in today's article.

It'll be interesting to see how Mr Beast gets on in this lawsuit.

Oops. I've just seen that others have already posted today's article. I'll scroll up and catch up.

🤦‍♀️

lcakethereforeIam · 22/09/2024 15:16

We both noticed the no-nouns 😃

BonfireLady · 22/09/2024 16:20

We did indeed! I'm always curious about how the BBC writes on this stuff. Missing pronouns are a positive. Their lack of consistency across their media is not.

This thread had completely passed me by. I just googled "Mr Beast Mumsnet" and posted on the first match that looked useful.

I've gone back up from here and found some useful stuff. I'm going to read the thread from the start too and see what else I've missed. The "finally got worse" video is proving a useful talking point over WhatsApp with my 15 year old (I've found that WhatsApp is a great way to "debate" as it allows her space to form her own opinion). I had started the conversation off the back of the (duplicate 🤦‍♀️) BBC article that I posted above. As she's 15, I felt she was ready for the content in the "finally got worse" video too.

Here's a screenshot of how I opened things with today's BBC article (below). Her immediate answer was number 1 and she raised a point that there are examples of people who make up accusations so that they can get money off rich people. "He's the biggest name on the internet, so people will try this". She also said it was a very small number of people, so in her mind unlikely to be true. I acknowledged she had raised good points, but equally it sometimes takes a proven wrong (in court) for more victims to have the confidence to come forward.

Anyway, she's now watching that video.... I'm going to give her some space to think.

In the screenshot below, I have redacted the name of the person who is "clearly like that" because nothing has been proven in court on this. Obviously I'm allowed to express my opinion on what seems obvious in a private chat though. Also my children have already expressed how appalled they are at this particular person for this reason. At the moment they are sure that Mr Beast has nothing to do with it... although that video might lead them to think differently. She's clearly going to tell her sister what she's seen as they are both Mr Beast fans.

My comment about option number 3 being the least likely is because I do genuinely believe that I shouldn't encourage my children to immediately think this of people, just because they have a connection to them. I want them to use their own critical thinking and look at facts, not just other people's opinions (including mine).
However, the "Delaware" video adds an interesting twist. I'll watch it first and then send it to her if I think its content is appropriate for her.

Mr Beast's trans friend Messaged 13yo
BonfireLady · 22/09/2024 20:20

Finally caught up on the thread.

Some things that caught my eye:

I'm not going to read 30 plus pages and frankly, just knowing that the minors on that discord called Tyson 'Daddy' and that there was one confused poster who said that they were 12 is enough for me today.

It is clear that there is more than just the one original victim. I think that the person who released the discord log is another victim. So there are at least three victims now of different ages, with/without trans identities, but all male so far.

Thank you @RainWithSunnySpells

Although it's not about Mr Beast, this article caught my eye in my news feed today as it's about a backlash on the Lollicon-type of "art" in the public discourse:

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/films/0/american-beauty-hollywood-kevin-spacey/

Also, it's encouraging to read in this thread that many of the Reddit posts about Tyson were critical about anyone who defended the use of she/her pronouns. Obviously it's not quite there in terms of seeing the full picture but eventually, people will start to see patterns of what's been hiding in plain sight.

American Beauty is a stain on Hollywood – but don’t blame Kevin Spacey

Acclaimed on its release, Sam Mendes’s drama swept the Oscars. Today, it looks trite and uncomfortable – but not because of its star
