Mr Beast's trans friend Messaged 13yo

SpicyMoth · 23/07/2024 16:06

Mr Beast's (Youtuber) best friend who somewhat recently (last few years or so I think, leaving his wife and children) came out as trans has now been found to have been messaging at least one minor inappropriately.

Joking about "hentai addiction", and other sexual "edgy jokes".

(They were "jokes" according to the victim, as the victim seems to feel that they are not a victim and Kris Tyson has done nothing wrong - Even though ofc we all know that victims who are minors will many times believe that they are not victims.
Am sure we've all been teens once who were flattered and smitten with an older guy and didn't' realise until we were older or had children of our own how wrong and creepy it was despite it being "like omg SO cool!" at the time...)

Minor attracted” 🤬 Aren’t we allowed to say paedophile on MN?

I have a friend who was 'suspended but never reinstated' AKA banned from MN for saying this back in 2018. Still, 6 full years later, it still cannot be said.

How much longer do we have to pretend this isn't what it so obviously is?

Didn't know, that's why I hedged my bets.

Turns out you've proved me wrong. Thanks!

Colour me unsurprised that another cross dressing man is revealed to have a more dangerous paraphilia. Make it stop.

Misschananderlerbongg · 25/07/2024 09:28

I saw this on the bbc website today, it’s very disingenuous reporting to describe Ava as she throughout the article! I thought it was odd a woman had done this. Turns out it’s a biological man who was completely a biological man at the time.
What a strange world we live in.

HidingBehindTheWallpaper · 25/07/2024 09:48

Good to know this never happens.

Of course there are a large number of transwomen who would never dream of such a thing but it goes to show that some men are using it as a mask to hide behind.

Ugh at the BBC using "she" and "her". This is a male crime, this is male sexual depravity, grooming and porn addiction. His poor family.

Once more to the BBC; these are not...our...crimes!!!!

I've heard of Mr Beast, but never watched his channel so I was unaware of this friend. I was reading the BBC article and was shocked that it was a woman, because female groomers are so rare. Then I scrolled down to the photo... 😬

Having read stuff about what this person has said in the past, it doesn't seem entirely unsurprising.

Have you reported your post, @SpicyMoth ? It’s one of the quicker ways to draw attention.

Other ways include posting in Site Stuff, and emailing.

I have, thank you!
Embarrassingly I was so frantic with trying to report that I missed a bunch of obvious things and I ended up emailing first before figuring out the "..." next to private messages can allow you to report - I only registered the "..." at the top of the message which only gave the block option and I thought "well that can' t be right?!" and got carried away ahaha!

My instinct is to blame my baby brain but that feels like a cop out to me, not gonna lie😅

Arabella, the YouTube algorithm is serving up lots of videos about Tyson and while I’m glad to see the disgusting behaviour discussed, because it might serve as a warning to children as to what dodgy behaviour to watch out for, I’m irritated that some YouTubers are using the information to garner clicks and to stir up arguments with each other for drama. This behaviour detracts from the serious nature of the allegations and Tyson’s actions.

Edited to add that this is the only video I’ve seen so far where the YouTuber warns parents to watch what their children are doing online and doesn’t seem to be trying to garner clicks from sensationalism and drama:

howchildrenreallylearn · 25/07/2024 15:52

Just goes to show how captured the bbc are calling him ‘she’ all the way through the articles. It’s an intact MAN!

Oh how convenient this whole thing is for deviants/perverts.

CorruptedCauldron · 25/07/2024 16:02

Not a she, not a her.

He’s a bloke.

The BBC needs to stop with this ridiculous pandering.

Yep. It's ridiculous.

I will find the official complaint link to BBC and complain about this dodgy reporting. They didn't get back to me when I complained about the depraved murderer "Scarlett Blake" so doubtful I'll hear back but may as well. BBC pisses me off so much about this now I barely trust them on anything.

CorruptedCauldron · 25/07/2024 17:13

Thanks @INeedAPensieve.

Our ‘impartial’ broadcaster is actively gaslighting the public in its desperation to prop up gender ideology. It is getting so ridiculous as to be on the verge of trolling.

SpicyMoth · 25/07/2024 18:01

"Transgender" was mentioned in the article at one point, even if only once, and even if only halfway through - tbh that's at least a marginal step in the right direction for the Beeb considering what they're usually like!

(Not an excuse ofc, but better than just straight up "this is a woman" )

Oli London has posted MrBeast's statement. This appears to link with the BBC article upthread that mentions an investigator being hired by MrBeast.

'Oli London
@OliLondonTV
12h
YouTuber MrBeast responds after the allegations his longtime sidekick, Kris Tyson, sent inappropriate messages to young teens.

Tyson, who came out as Transgender last year, has been accused of sending inappropriate messages to teens as young as 13.

MrBeast, who has 305 Million subscribers has said he is ‘disgusted’ by the allegations and removed Tyson from his channel.

“Over the last few days, I’ve become aware of the serious allegations of Ava Tyson's behavior online and I am disgusted and opposed to such unacceptable acts.

During that time, I have been focused on hiring an independent third party to conduct a thorough investigation to ensure I have all the facts. That said, I’ve seen enough online and taken immediate action to remove Ava from the company, my channel, and any association with MrBeast. I do not condone or support any of the inappropriate actions.

I will allow the independent investigators the necessary time to conduct a comprehensive investigation and will take any further actions based on their findings.” '

There’s a strange thing happening on YouTube with the pronoun usage regarding Tyson. Some YouTubers are straightforward in calling Tyson ‘he’, most I’ve come across are avoiding pronouns or are using ‘them’ or ‘this person’ and I haven’t come across many using ‘she’ but it is happening (and makes the subject being discussed more confusing to understand than it should be).

A lot of the comments on the videos I’ve watched are highly critical of Tyson being referred to as a woman (particularly with respect to the nature of the allegegations) and sympathy/concern is being expressed for Tyson’s wife and son for having to deal with all that’s been going on for the last few years.

There’s not a lot of sympathy for Mr Beast for continuing to have Tyson as part of the team, given some of the information about dodgy behaviour was available last year (and also because Beast is a kids YouTuber so he needs to be very proactive about tackling any potential inappropriate behaviour), but I have seen the notion expressed that even if Mr Beast had wanted to part ways with Tyson last year he wouldn’t have been able to until now because of the attendant negative reaction he would have received from ‘progressives’. He’s been described as being between a rock and a hard place.

I went on to the Mr beast subreddit to see what people were saying yesterday and the sentiments were similar to what you describe. People who complained about misgendering and transphobia were being down voted, and plenty of people were calling this person out for being an abusive predator hiding behind the shield of being trans when they are in fact a sexual deviant who has gone deep down the rabbit hole of online porn. It was surprising to see if I'm honest.

I saw this too, but only a day or so after the initial allegations, originally people were running to Kris' defence - at least on reddit, it was depressing to see, but honestly I think a lot of them are just ill informed, kids themselves, or young adults that haven't quite realised how wrong this stuff is just yet; https://www.reddit.com/r/youtubedrama/comments/1e9kgkd/kris_tysons_alleged_victim_says_that_he_doesnt/

It’s impossible for parents to police this, my dd LOVES Mr Beast and I’ve watched loads of his videos with her - the whole thing seemed harmless to me. Argh it is so difficult parenting this generation.

That is interesting utopia. Because what it means is the pronouns discussion could be getting through to the wider audience. Of course, there will be people who never used preferred pronouns there too. But if it is a mixed bag of responses, it is far better than even last year for allowing people to communicate without complying to someone else’s belief.

Chersfrozenface · 26/07/2024 06:50

Re the pronouns.

Can we assume that identity and therefore pronouns are more and more becoming predicated on behaviour? So if evidence emerges that a person is anything from a sleazeball to a sexual predator to a rapist to a murderer, that person is no longer regarded as trans and gets reverted to "neutral" or accurate sex-based pronouns, at least for a proportion of genderism supporters and allies.

Is mr beast stuff accessible on YouTube kids?

ArabellaScott · 26/07/2024 08:29

Yes. It's aimed primarily at children.

'On the surface, MrBeast may seem like just another YouTuber with wacky videos. But he’s gone to great lengths to make sure his fame and fortune are put to worthy use. In almost every video, he is giving away something to someone. He’s said in multiple interviews that the ability to make other people happy is what makes him most happy.
Besides his YouTube videos, MrBeast is a full-on philanthropist with many non-profits under his name. He has #TeamTrees and #TeamSeas to help the environment and he has a food bank to feed the hungry in communities around the world.
A lot of the popular channels on YouTube have some kind of content that’s not appropriate for kids. But somehow, MrBeast managed to be one of the most popular channels by being generous with his money, family-friendly for the kids that make up most of his audience, and a positive influence on every person that watches.
