How many votes did they get in the areas they stood? BBC isn’t giving a breakdown of results.

How many voted do you have to get to reclaim your deposit?

Bbc website a few minutes ago said c.5k votes overall, I think.

Sloejelly · 05/07/2024 07:07

That depends how you measure success.

WarriorN · 05/07/2024 07:08

I think 285 in Liz Panton's seat, Newcastle east

WarriorN · 05/07/2024 07:08

You have to search the individual constituencies

Greatbritish · 05/07/2024 07:13

332 votes for Julia Long in Bexhill and Battle.

Which is more than double UKIPs 144 vote count.

Toseland · 05/07/2024 07:15

Linda Law 455 for Norwich South

283 - but she was not the last at all!

arethereanyleftatall · 05/07/2024 07:35

I would have voted if one had stood in my area

Whatever1964 · 05/07/2024 07:37

Less votes overall than the monster raving loony party

SapphireSeptember · 05/07/2024 07:43

Bev White (St Neots and Mid Cambridgeshire) got 274 votes. 😊
Nearest candidate to me, but not in my area. (I ended up voting for the local independent candidate.)

Katherine Longthorp (Oxford East) got 337 votes.
Nearest candidate to my mum, but not in her area either! (My mum voted SDP.)

BlanketAnnouncement · 05/07/2024 07:44

Don’t think they got more than a few hundred votes or saved their deposit in any constituency, did they? KJK got 196 votes while Carla Denyer for the Greens won with over 24,500.

Ineverlose · 05/07/2024 07:45

Total disaster for KJK, 196 votes. I guess that’s what happens when you fight with everyone and then moan all the time that nobody will talk to you. Such a massive lost opportunity, had kjk not been so divisive, loads of people would have voted for her. Party of Women was a great idea that has been lost as a result of an out of control ego. Presumably all attention will turn to the Northumbria police matter so that KJK can pretend this hasn’t happened.

thirdfiddle · 05/07/2024 07:58

I think this is kind of missing the point. It was never about winning lots of votes, it was about the publicity for their issue. As an advertising campaign it was a bargain. (Wish I could have voted for one of them though!)

Faffertea · 05/07/2024 07:59

363 for Seonaid Barber in West Worcestershire.

Wasn’t she standing against a really good labour mp? It wouldn’t have been my choice to stand there, but it is a haven of woke ridiculousness so maybe that was the reason.

Ineverlose · 05/07/2024 08:03

The plan was to get publicity for the issue but the plan didn’t work. A snide article in a local Bristol paper is the sum of the publicity. This disaster is proof that the 8% of people who are on Twitter are just talking to each other in echo chambers and this can give people like KJK an inflated idea about themselves

Ineverlose · 05/07/2024 08:05

Yes it was a really bad decision to stand in central Bristol. KJK’s lack of strategic thinking is apparent. She bulldozes in without giving any thought to tactics. She literally doesn’t understand strategy.

WhitstablePearl · 05/07/2024 08:10

5k overall

If you click the link then select each constituency it will tell you how many votes for each of the POW candidates

So how did the party of women do?

Well done to the women standing! I’m sure they have make a mark!

Villagetoraiseachild · 05/07/2024 08:19

Thanks to those incredibly brave women who risked their personal safety to stand. For almost complete unknowns to the general public they did incredibly well and they can be proud of themselves. They all will have grown in experience and confidence.

Wumblewimble · 05/07/2024 08:22

Yes everyone who worked for the party of women should be congratulated, there will be more elections and more experience

CleftChin · 05/07/2024 08:22

Everything has to start somewhere - I doubt any of them were the lowest number of votes in their constituency, despite being excluded from hustings, and generally monstered in the media.

Well done to them for getting this all together in just 6 weeks, and being brave enough to stand. We're going to need them again in 4 years time.

I think a lot of the problem is that KJK is really unlikeable even to a lot of GC people. To have her speaking to the general public about this particular issue which she knows a lot about, to people who have never even considered the issues at hand - well that’s not going to go down that well. She’s not the most measured debater. I’m sure I’ll get a lot of flak on here for saying it but I wouldn’t have voted for her either. I’d have been more likely to consider the party on the basis of a leaflet through the door than by watching KJK in a hustings or online for example.

it doesn’t really matter they weren’t standing in my area but even so.
