To me that's a strong argument in favour of NOT electing people who are even more mental about this stuff.

😂

ActivePeony · 29/06/2024 07:50

Not really odd is it? People should know that it they vote Labour this is the shit that they will be hearing on a regular basis.

Aye and it'll get a lot worse with these pandering shitwits in charge.

MissScarletInTheBallroom · 29/06/2024 08:45

It's also worth noting that in the current shadow cabinet, David Lammy is one of the only ones with any experience in government at all. The vast majority of the rest of them were elected post 2010.

"pandering shitwits" 🤣

Midgegreenstreet · 29/06/2024 08:59

Pandering shitwits is my new favourite phrase.

I really am very bored of having to point out to those desperate to excuse Labour's idiocy on this matter that gender ideology is a global phenomenon. We could have had it far worse here under a different government, as many other countries currently do.

BippityBopper · 29/06/2024 07:52

Thinking another party will be better because they're keeping scthum or seemingly telling voters what they want to hear is very naive.

History has shown time and time again what the outcome can be. Lather, rinse, repeat.

I think another party will be better because the Tories are completely incompetent, can't do anything without changing leader, lie, break the law and are motivated by cronyism rather than public service.

Personally I like Labour but actually I'll take anyone who can GTFTO, with the exception of Reform Ltd because I don't want to live in a fascist dictatorship.

Yes. It's worth watching the whole thing. She talks about spaces for biological women and answers the journalists question about where she will be cowed by JKR.

Burn The Witch for not saying the FWR line on trans.

Actually while I'm typing this, it is notable how much criticism is of the black man and the working class woman. God forbid they should get ideas above their station and actually be in power

CassieMaddox · 29/06/2024 09:50

Alltheprettyseahorses · 29/06/2024 07:47

The interview is 3 years old. It's pretty current! But if you think that's historical, what's your opinion on Starmer constantly (and very misguidedly given the scandals and mismanagement) playing the DPP card?

Honestly. The false equivalences people pull out tickle me Grin

Starmer has every right to talk about his career history as that's part of him and what he brings to the table.

Lammy talking about female biology is not in any way comparable, due to the fact he's a man and its an opinion.

Maybe in respect of gender ideology.

In respect of cost of living, public services, economic growth etc we could have had it very much better too.

Russ Jones is doing a 14 year tory retrospective. This is from the first year of Camerons government. He assesses the impact of various policies and I can barely bring myself to read it.

I really don't think I'd be going there about criticism based on race, given the treatment of Diane Abbott in parallel with the Labour response to her racism - which was to send her on a course about Jewish people but not about Travellers, or Irish people, then designate her as never capable of having been rehabilitated. As well as Dawn "babies are born without a sex" Butler and her handmaiden response to Kemi being told to shut up. Or not exist, ideally.

But I'm sure our regular poster will carry on regardless.

Chersfrozenface · 29/06/2024 10:03

Lammy talking about female biology is not in any way comparable, due to the fact he's a man and its an opinion.

You can't have opinions on biological fact.

He was wrong, he was factually incorrect.

Once again

"..it's probably the case that trans women don't have ovaries..." - wrong, factually incorrect, it's not probably, it's definite.

..but a cervix..is something that you can have following various procedures, hormones and all the rest of it..." - wrong, factually incorrect, transwomen, being male, cannot grow a womb or the neck of a womb.

His being a man is no excuse for ignorance of scientific biological facts. Unless you're saying all men are too stupid to learn such facts.

Dawn Butler is also black and made a fair point to KB.

I'm not talking about politics. I'm talking about this board, where in the last two days we have had multiple threads about AR and DL. It is noticeable.

To be honest the fact it's meant to be a board for feminists but spends an inordinate amount of time castigating other women for "not feministing right" because they don't toe the FWR GC line has been apparent for a while.

Whatever. It's not comparable with Starmer talking about his own career, which is what PP was trying to say.

ResisterOfTwaddleRex · 29/06/2024 10:05

She didn't make a fair point. What she did was illustrate just how in thrall to trans ideology she is. She made that point loud and clear!

CassieMaddox · 29/06/2024 10:06

Oh and BTW plenty of people's opinions are wrong or based on demonstrably incorrect facts. Doesn't stop it being "an opinion"
Hilarious you'd spend all that time in pedantry to deflect from the point.

She refuses to apologise for labelling LGB Alliance and Woman's Place UK 'hate groups'. Very unimpressed.

If Angela Rayner were only ten times less intelligent than JKR she probably would be cowed by JKR because she would realise they're not playing in the same league.

But as it is, she's about twenty times less intelligent than JKR so she's not cowed by her because she doesn't realise they're not even playing the same game.

CassieMaddox · 29/06/2024 10:18

Unfortunately for WPUK they have got force teamed with a bunch of right wing orgs with dodgy funding sources and therefore potentially strange agendas, by the way the stupid charter was written. LGB Alliance are is one of those and if I were a politician I would not want to be perceived to support them either.

Rayner did say she'd talk to any of those groups.

Anyway it's all very tedious. I get you hate Labour and are getting desperate as polling day nears. But you know this very rigid "black and white" position alienates people, rather than inspiring them. One reason the Tories have been in freefall.

Weird how guilt by association only ever seems to go one way, huh.

😂
Calling a woman who grew up in extreme poverty to become deputy leader of a parliamentary party "stupid" is a bit desperate (and slightly misogynistic)

The journalist asked Rayner "will you be cowed by JKR?" (Or similar) Rayner answered the question. Are you saying she wasn't sufficiently deferential in her answer? 😂

Don't be ridiculous. There are millions of threads here about "Stonewall capture" which is essentially "guilt by association". Lots speculating about various people's objectivity because they know trans people or have them in their family. Lots about left wing parties being funded by drugs companies etc.

Given that JKR's position is that humans can't change sex, Lia Thomas shouldn't be swimming in women's swimming competitions, male rapists shouldn't be housed in women's prisons, we shouldn't be performing irreversible medical interventions on gender non conforming children and calling women menstruators is gross, I think you'd have to be really fucking stupid to disagree with that, let alone say it out loud.

And lol at the idea that rising to the top of the Labour party is a sign of intelligence. The world of politics is like a toilet in which shit floats to the top. It would be much harder to reach the top as an intelligent person.

ResisterOfTwaddleRex · 29/06/2024 10:30

I agree that it's a clear sign of stupidity to believe humans can change sex. As well as that men with £5 bits of paper are women.
