‘Didn’t have all the facts so investigation ongoing’ aka realising their PC messed up big time and should be subject to a criminal investigation but trying to fob off the candidate so it can be swept under a rug.

Does she think she is immune to complaints being made and investigated against her? So far we've had "tr--n", "fragile f-cuks" and now this tweeted for all to see.

btw I'm starting to receive feedback from those reddit posts using "tr--n", the posts are being removed and users given warnings. That confirms what I thought that it is a slur recognised by Reddit, thanks to whoever let me know about them.

Before anyone says Reddit just likes to give out bans, I've had a reddit account for years without warnings or bans and have taken part in some good LGBT subs where one can meet with other LGBT people or talk about related topics (actual LGBT subs, not pretend ones which are just gender critical in disguise).

I have a feeling some people just dislike reddit because they won't put up with transphobia or other bigotry the way other forums might.

ArabellaScott · 30/06/2024 13:55

It's the rape-promoting subs that I have a problem with, tbh. Symptomatic of a site that holds men's sexual rights as far more important than women or women's rights.

FlirtsWithRhinos · 30/06/2024 13:56

Mate. Of course you are going to be happy with moderation that upholds your predjudices. It doesn't make you right, it just means you like an echo chamber 😂

These comments were largely subsequent to her conversation with the police officer, the conversation with the police officer was based on her election leaflet, let's try to not wander off into other realms.

Quite. I'm wondering if the Superintendent "establishing the facts" is going to backfire on Louise. Seems very unwise to tweet some of the things she has (and other PoW members and supporters).
It comes across very goady to me.

spannasaurus · 30/06/2024 14:30

When did being goady become a criminal offence?

Pardon?

the conversation with the police officer was based on her election leaflet, let's try to not wander off into other realms.

Exactly. This is about a police officer possibly interfering with an election (a criminal offence). It's not about name-calling on twitter.

Why should a parliamentary candidate be polite to criminals trying to subvert an election?

It could be that.
Or it could be about a parliamentary candidate misusing their position to harass someone. The police do have to investigate reported crimes too.

I guess it'll come out in the wash.

I still think phoning police officers to basically say "do you know who I am?" And broadcasting it on twitter is unwise and unnecessary. But KJK loves a good bit of clickbait

Are you calling the police "criminals"? That's quite serious. Especially when they've been named on twitter and on here

Absolutely, he has committed a criminal offence therefore is a criminal.

the police in the UK have been overreaching for a few years now - in the direction of women talking about women's rights.

A big slap in the face for them (metaphorically) is well overdue.

I guess to go back to this point, politicians need public servants (like police) to execute their policies. So yes I think they should be polite about them in public if they are serious about being effective in politics.
Obviously PoW aren't trying to be MPs, just spread the message. But I think an awful lot of people will be switched off by "shock jock" style twitter tantrums. I know I am.

Oh OK. But with no knowledge of the case, the circumstances where the "malicious communication" complaint was made, or who complained. Solely kn the basis of the person who committed the alleged offences tweets, you are confident that the police made that up are happy you know best and you can call them criminals on the Internet.
Jeepers.

Imnobody4 · 30/06/2024 15:09

Where is the register of banned insults anyway.
This thread is about the conduct of the police, who are paid to uphold the law, not to harass women and subvert the democratic process.

The police contacted a candidate about a complaint over approved legal election leaflets. Nowt about tweets. Please read the thread before jumping in with your usual authoritarianism.
