JKR calls Labour's Bluff - Offering Meeting leadership only on her terms

JKR is playing at a different level. After Starmer and Reeves offered to meet with her she gave them her conditions.

I'll be happy to meet after NoXYinXXprisons, Lesbian Labour, Womens Rights Network, WomansPlaceUK and Alliance LGB have been given in person meetings with the Labour leadership. I'd also like to know whether Angela Rayner still considers the last two organisations hate groups.

They are trapped either they now have to meet with gay and women's groups and listen to them something they are desperate not to do. It is not impossible then that Reeves at least can be made to see some sense. Even talking with these groups and JKR will also make TRAs go ballistic and many will leave the party. Chances are that Labour will promise a bunch of stuff to JKR which If Labour still follow gender nonsense after that they can be fully held to account for. If they promise single sex spaces are safe then every time that is breached Labour's credibility will be on the line

Or if they refuse to meet with the groups they prove EVERYTHING JKR said in her essay was right.

The media are now hyping the meeting further locking Labour in

From what I gather, Victoria Starmer is very much NOT a "trad wife" at all. She just doesn't want to be in the forefront as far as I can see, or her kids to be either. Which is completely understandable. But I'm curious as to her views on this, especially as she works for the NHS; is she pro? Given the views he's expressed, I'd suspect yes.

Considering Jill Biden could now determine who will be the next POTUS I would say the wife of the UK PM has an equally large influence on him. Being PM is hardly just a job and who else would you confide with your darkest deepest thoughts and worries but your DW

While that is true MyCat, I don’t think it’s unreasonable for the Starmers to seek privacy for KS’s wife and kids. He’s never paraded them to get votes and seemingly tries to shield them. I respect him for that (if not some other things).

Well yes if that is what he did, but in a manner very similar to Suealla Braverman and her husband, (not of course anything to do with seeking the Jewish vote!) are happy to parade "credentials" in the Jewish Chronicle.

Sadly if that is Biden at his best (after tons of coaching, medication and Botox) then I don’t think he has capacity to decide whether he should continue as POTUS. Sm

I'm tempted to think Jill Biden is being set up for blame. Joe Biden is a grown man with at least some marbles. No matter what his wife may or may not be telling him, he takes the blame for his own decisions.

The Observer has a couple of articles, about how women are being sidelined in our election

I don't disagree with you Cake about the often excessively negative attitude towards Jill Biden. However, how she behaves towards him in public reminds me a lot of Nancy Reagan with her husband when he was in decline. That makes me think that Jill Biden is trying to help her husband keep doing his job (which is to her credit) but ultimately I think it would be better for Biden's health if he took the decision to retire.
