JKR calls Labour's Bluff - Offering Meeting leadership only on her terms

JKR is playing at a different level. After Starmer and Reeves offered to meet with her she gave them her conditions.

I'll be happy to meet after NoXYinXXprisons, Lesbian Labour, Womens Rights Network, WomansPlaceUK and Alliance LGB have been given in person meetings with the Labour leadership. I'd also like to know whether Angela Rayner still considers the last two organisations hate groups.

They are trapped either they now have to meet with gay and women's groups and listen to them something they are desperate not to do. It is not impossible then that Reeves at least can be made to see some sense. Even talking with these groups and JKR will also make TRAs go ballistic and many will leave the party. Chances are that Labour will promise a bunch of stuff to JKR which If Labour still follow gender nonsense after that they can be fully held to account for. If they promise single sex spaces are safe then every time that is breached Labour's credibility will be on the line

Or if they refuse to meet with the groups they prove EVERYTHING JKR said in her essay was right.

The media are now hyping the meeting further locking Labour in

Wow, she has out manoeuvred them all, she’s some politician!

She does it every time. She's clever, brave, funny, and a total inspiration.

"They are trapped either they now have to meet with gay and women's groups"

A lot of people including myself have the viewpoint the LGB-Alliance is not a gay rights group but more of an anti-trans group. Plenty of proof to back this up including people who wear LGB-Alliance clothing not being welcome at actual gay bars and gay pride events. And the fact almost everything they say and do is all about being anti-trans rather than actually benefitting gay people.

They don't respond to emails pointing this out to them.

JKR for Prime Minister

This.

A way better option than Starmer and Labour who are coming across as a bunch of vile misogynists. The thought of him and them running the country in a little over a week is really frightening in terms of women losing our rights.

Christinapple · 24/06/2024 21:23

"JKR for Prime Minister"

Can you imagine. We would hear about trans people all day every day, there would be no escape.

Some people would say this is evidence of gay spaces and gay pride no longer being about gay rights. See also lesbians being attacked at pride events for being same sex attracted.

Well we certainly do here, when people are trying to talk about women's rights.

That isn’t proof of anything except that some bars and event organisers have taken negative information about the group at face value, for whatever reason. Maybe because they believe it, maybe because they are anxious about being criticised by association.

Regardless, it’s not ‘proof’ they’re bad actors.

HereForTheFreeLunch · 24/06/2024 21:31

Wow! She's really outmanoeuvred KS!

He really doesn't give a sh*t about women.

Pride hasnt been about gays or lesbians for years.Do point me in the direction of a lesbian bar,the last time I looked they had been all but disbanded because of trans activists threatening them.LGB Alliance was set up to uphold gay rights after Stonewall declared same sex attraction transphobic.

Wow. They must be having kittens working out what to do next.
I can hear ‘Pressure. Pushing down on me.’ running in my head. Tick tock. 9 days to go.
They still can’t have my vote though , no matter what the outcome. It shouldn’t have come to this.

I would still prefer to vote left. There is just about time for them to sort things out - but the trouble is they don't have any intention of doing so.

They've made ridiculous promises with no basis in reality - half VAWG? Great! How?! - but the only detailed policies are the gender supportive ones.

Faffertea · 24/06/2024 21:34

Ignoring the derailer let’s get back to the topic of JKR and how she demonstrates she has more integrity in her little finger than many of our so called political leaders.

And witty to boot.

You might be going to some quite homophobic bars & events, then?

Gosh, really, what a surprise. How remiss of them.

She is absolutely mighty and makes Starmer look like the third rate politician that he is. I am so happy that she is fighting this fight with us - makes me a bit tearful tbh.

nocoolnamesleft · 24/06/2024 21:47

And look how the worthy organisations she has cited are in turn suggesting others. Women supporting women. Love it.

Whatthechicken · 24/06/2024 21:49

14 years in opposition and nine days away from an expected GE Labour landslide - and they are on the fucking rocks because they haven’t cared to pay enough attention to women over the many years we’ve been shouting. Changing their manifesto on the hoof and nobody seems to know what their true intentions are. This is just a total new level of incompetency. And we are all totally expecting Labour to fix all of the countries woes? I don’t know whether to laugh or cry.

VerasMacAndHat · 24/06/2024 21:50

What an incredible woman.
I wait with baited breath to see how KS responds.

CaveMum · 24/06/2024 21:50

Honestly, let’s set up our own centrist party, vote JKR in as Leader and watch 2029(ish) be an utter landslide for the MN Party!

User109876 · 24/06/2024 21:52

Christ on a bike. Smug Starmer thinking he's pulled a blinder, then JKR right back at him with her far superior intelect. Love this woman

This made me a bit teary also -

'It's far deeper and more personal than that. I was one of the women most affected by this ideology, and if I was still there (poor, reliant on state-run single sex spaces), I'd look at Now Me and think 'why the fuck aren't you speaking? Why are you letting us fight alone?''
