She's pulled out of local hustings because it's not safe for her to attend.

But Don't worry.

Keir Starmer will be along to offer his support to Rosie and condemn these attacks on democracy soon...

Tell us again how it’s both sides…

Victoria Smith has written about this in Unherd

https://unherd.com/newsroom/labour-is-still-failing-to-protect-rosie-duffield/

I'd seen posts about that interview (there's a link to it in the article). I've not watched it myself, I find Starmer too aggravating and he always looks on the verge of tears, to me anyway. I didn't know he'd made that comment about Brianna Ghey's murder 😳 wtf!

This is what passes me off about so-called trans allies (the absolute freaks). Virtue signalling to frightened children by throwing people, usually women, under the bus. Anyway, it's said much better in the article.

Labour is still failing to protect Rosie Duffield

Earlier this year Good Morning Britain’s Susanna Reid asked Keir Starmer whether he owed Rosie Duffield an apology for claiming she should not have said “only women have a cervix”. The Labour leader felt he did not, although he did express his distaste...

SinnerBoy · 17/06/2024 02:17

They're not just failing to protect Rosie, they're actively ignoring the threats to her. Starmer hasn't even spoken to her, despite his claim that he did. His choice is to abandon her and hope that she goes away.

He's a reprehensible shit.

lonelywater · 17/06/2024 02:40

Think this must Cashman's Fanny Cradock/Gwen Troke moment. (one for the teenagers there)

SinnerBoy · 17/06/2024 04:34

I know about the nasty snobby Fanny Cradfock, but Gwen Troke isn't someone I have heard of.

SinnerBoy · 17/06/2024 04:36

Ah... Gwen Troake was the lady FC was disparaging about.

ginandbearit · 17/06/2024 06:20

As is often the way , Starmer's silence speaks volumes ...sadly I think this will play into Farage's campaign, if he use it to bait Starmer then Rosie would be damaged too.. Starmer needs to voice unequivocal support, but I don't think he will .v

It's a rum do if the Tradwife Party (reform) end up supporting a working woman being threatened at he work, more than her own colleagues and management.

Signalbox · 17/06/2024 08:27

Sorry if posted already but apparently Labour have “quietly” removed Cashman’s name from the list of Labour Peers.

I was about to post this. It hasn't been mentioned before here.

He was definitely in the list of peers on the website before. Sounds like he has lost the whip. Keep watching this space. This could have a big impact and will keep the issue alive. Indeed it could undermine the more crazy plans of Labour on gender stuff. Keep holding Labour to account folks.

Whatever happens thanks to EVERYONE who made a complaint. Small actions equal big impact. All thanks to Rosie and a bunch of women who are not frit at all.

That is why why the pro-women side will win this.

No doubt if he does Rosie will be called 'Far Right' for getting support from the wrong side.

The whole fucking Gender Identity Ideology shitshow destroys everything it touches.

Floisme · 17/06/2024 09:03

If it's correct that Labour have removed the whip from Cashman then that's good news I'm very pleased to hear it. I assume they will make it public though? I bloody hope so because, If they don't, they'll look like they're embarrassed to be seen doing the right thing.

BloodyHellKenAgain · 17/06/2024 09:07

If the Labour Party can't support their own female MPs over this issue when they're on the charm offensive, trying to secure votes, then what hope is there for Labour support once they've won the election?
I think they'll throw women and child safe guarding under the bus.

A most enjoyable Community Note has been added to Cashman's apology tweet:

Signalbox · 17/06/2024 09:27

Surely they can't remove the whip and just keep their fingers crossed that nobody picks up on it? Does anyone know how the process works? If the Whip is removed would that process involve approval from KS?

nauticant · 17/06/2024 09:32

It's part of Labour's Ming vase strategy in the run-up to the election. Avoid doing anything but if something has to be done, then do the absolute minimum. No bold moves.

I can't see it. What does it say?

nauticant · 17/06/2024 09:49

Readers added context they thought people might want to know

Lord Cashman fails to name Rosie Duffield and does not specify which tweet he is apologising for — he has made a number of posts attacking Ms Duffield.

I absolutely agree!
I have contributed to her campaign fund… still time…. I am also planning to go canvassing for her since I admire her so much! She is SO COURAGEOUS. A chap called mullane was convicted of threats against her and jk Rowling.
if want to donate screener to support rosie duffield, you can go to her campaign fund.’ Rosie duffield campaign fund’, to express solidarity ! I hope she gets re-elected.

lcakethereforeIam · 17/06/2024 10:23

Cashman seems a twat of the first water but he's just a sympton, Starmer needs to step up and speak out.

According to twitter he was removed in February so not in response to his recent behaviour

I'm assuming it's an error

Sonia Sodha, who I normally find takes great care to report accurately, has twixed:

'NEW: Labour have just confirmed to me that Labour peer Lord Cashman had the whip suspended yesterday.'

Good. And now a public announcement please, Sir Keir, otherwise I'm going to assume you're too frit.

Come on Keir, there's still time to prove me wrong.
