Here's Karen Ingala-Smith's take. KIS being a feminist icon imo.

Interesting how people help her out amplifying who she is and that she’s standing

TERFCat · 01/06/2024 16:15

I'm disappointed in Karen for that. She's better than this. Tearing down other women isn't feminist.

What do you think about KJK standing against JP then?

BezMills · 01/06/2024 16:19

Two women facing each other in an election is good

That’s different, because reasons

Are you suggesting two women can’t oppose each other politically?

Why is not having that preferable to you?

Do you consider yourself a feminist out of interest

It’s a response to that whole thread. Try reading it back.

KIS is part of the WPUK, Actual Gender Critical Left, FiLia axis.

She and all of them are required to denigrate her. As Labour has shown, on the left you have to follow the party line.

IwantToRetire · 01/06/2024 18:11

Just to clarify as someone up thread seem to want to twist that I asked for suggestions of MPs KJK could stand against. I did this not because I am opposed to KJK but because I think her stand of being a disrupter is great - and quite brave.

But just thought JP would not get the fireworks she might be looking for.

And really want to see her take down some dim witted male leftie.

But having said that am now thinking that Angela Raynor is a good suggestion because of her official position in the the Labour Party and this! https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2024/04/11/angela-rayner-trans-charter-attacked-feminist-group-apology/

Rayner stands by trans charter that attacked feminist ‘hate groups’

In 2020, deputy Labour leader backed statement describing bodies such as Women’s Place UK as ‘trans-exclusionist’

Ben Bradshaw? Oh, he's not standing again, is he. Alex Sobel does sound like a good suggestion if it has to be Labour, but I'd second standing against Ed Davey.

How on earth did I forget David "Rights-hoarding dinosaurs" Lammy? That could have been fun, with the dinosaurs leafleting.

Interesting selection of Labour candidates in Bristol!

  • Bristol East. Kerry McCarthy (Labour)
  • Bristol North West. Darren Jones (Labour)
  • Bristol South. Karin Smyth (Labour)
  • Bristol West. Thangam Debbonaire (Labour)

I wonder whether if standing as a disrupter she’d have been better to hold off forming the party. Maybe she’d have had more impact as an individual activist. Although I appreciate that depends how many candidates the PoW ends up with.

Why is Angela Rayner's name so hard for right leaning posters to spell?

IwantToRetire · 01/06/2024 18:36

Talk about dumbing down the discussion by posting slurs.

You dont know whether I might be dyslexic, a bad typist or educated in school that thought content rather than rules were important.

But a useful reminder that you have no real interest in thread topics and am grateful that you continue to expose yourself.

Or it might just be a name that is often spelt with an o

I’m with you. Who cares anyway.

illinivich · 01/06/2024 18:45

That's a bonkers website. Under JP it says "I met her".

Im not sure what i should take from that bit of information.

Meanwhile back on topic, this web site shows which MPs have said want about trans women https://clareflourish.wordpress.com/members-of-parliament-and-trans-rights/

Thank you for the link. I'm not sure how seriously to take that piece but the first thing I want to know is who's the 'hate campaigner on Mumsnet' who wrote to Vicky Foxcroft? Grin

I am interested, I just see the misspelling a lot - Ray-NOR and always on disparaging threads about her/Labour. It is curious.

AdamRyan · 01/06/2024 19:26

Saying "right leaning" is not a slur either Confused

Anyway, what was your issue with the Bristol Labour candidates?
