Front page of The Times tomorrow. Refers to the tribunal's references to the actions taken against Roz as a "heresy hunt' and reminiscent of Kafka.

CountingCrones · 20/05/2024 00:32

Fantastic news!

GrimDamnFanjo · 20/05/2024 00:36

Unanimous! Such great news!

So, another case clearly showing that some organisations are so deeply ideological that they cannot tolerate other opinions. plus they believe flawed perspective from lobby groups and people offering ‘advice’ that ends up getting the organisation dragged through court cases that result in the public witnessing their incompetence and dishonesty.

I hope that organisations take note. (I say this yet seeing what the fuck the Scottish greens did this past week has left me with little hope really.)

It is worth remembering the actual meaning if the word “bigot” is “a person who is intolerant of any ideas other than his or her own, esp on religion, politics, or race”.
https://www.collinsdictionary.com/dictionary/english/bigot

ERCC are officially bigots.

MarieDeGournay · 20/05/2024 00:39

I couldn't stop reading, even though it's well past my bedtime😩[that claims to be a 'weary' emoji]
It got better and better. 'Nonsense' 'Kafka' ... wow.
It also neatly points out the result of ERCC people not giving evidence: the judge seems to have implied things from the written statements, and said that in the absence of any direct evidence from them to the contrary, we conclude that...
Or even if they would have stated in person that they did not do X-which-is-discriminatory, they obviously did do Y-which-is-discriminatory, so you're guilty anyway.

I've said this before but it's worth repeating - despite its egregious failures, e.g. those numbered in Sixes and Fours and the Appalling Vista disgrace, the British legal system has its moments, and GC feminism is coming out on the right side of many of them.

Congratulations to Roz 💜you were treated so incredibly badly, but you were heard, and you were believed, and you have our admiration and our thanks. And hopefully compensation, though reading the detail of what they put you through, no compensation could be enough.

IwantToRetire · 20/05/2024 00:55

I haven't managed to read it completely, but this judgement could be even more profound than others, because of the workings of the EA and the right not only of women to provide women only services, but women to ask for and get women only services.

I hope every women's services provider in the UK, not just the employees and volunteers, but management read this.

... The Tribunal’s view is that there is ample evidence to find that the decision to launch a disciplinary investigation was due to the claimant’s belief. Further evidence for this can be gleaned from the statements made by MW at Edinburgh University where she was asked how to ensure inclusivity within an organisation and she replied to the effect that firing was as important as hiring.

In the view of the Tribunal we are entitled to infer from all of the evidence that the reason the disciplinary investigation was commenced and the claimant interviewed was because the respondent wished to make an example of the claimant because of her gender critical beliefs. It appeared to be the view of 5 the respondent’s senior management that the claimant was guilty of a heresy in that she did not fully subscribe to the gender ideology which they did and which they wished to promote in the organisation. This was an act of harassment on the basis of her belief. ...

And, which I didn't note at the time, but that the judgement at each instance recognises the right of women who have suffered male violence absolutely have the right to be honestly told whether or not any support staff are (biologically) male.

I also hope that this is a warning to other support services, where all too often people insert themselves into, not to advance the service, but to use it as a platform to impose their beliefs on.

Not sure if Roz reads mumsnet FWR, but if not can someone please tell her she has acted with integrity and great strength throughout, and has done an enourmous service to women and women service providers.

And for all the TRAs who will want to diminish her as some GC hardliner, the fact that she had long held and acted on being supportive of those who are trans means this just cant be said.

She has all the time put as the priority that there has to be absolute truth and integrity between a service and a sevice user.

FlowersStar - not enough emojis to show how brilliant this and she is!

fromorbit · 20/05/2024 00:58

Congrats to everyone. When do you think the TRAs will give up lying about biology? That they are bigots towards people? How many cases have they lost now?

I think someone said it is over 30 when you include all of them.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 20/05/2024 01:02

Fantastic news, so relieved for her!

I'm ready, and I'm going in! (Just the one rolled for now, but it's a big one!)

is that what we used to call a "jazz" cigarette? (one for the teenagers there)

Boiledbeetle · 20/05/2024 01:05

This is just to remind myself I've got to page 49 and I can no longer see the words! I'll continue reading tomorrow!

I think someone said it is over 30 when you include all of them.

Brilliantly clear as this is, far to many people in positions of power have have committed themselves to the TWAW narrative.

I suspect many will simply ignore it, as will much of the MSM.

I suspect some will even think that the judgement is flawed because it didn't sufficiently recognise the "harm" done to trans and non binary people in expecting them not to be "harmed" by hearing somen express women's sex based rights and ask them to respect their right to hold them.

And I suspect many will think that under Labour some such law will be created and that this judgement will be retrospectively reversed.

I know I usually complain about text only being available via a graphic as they discriminate against some visual impairments, but here is a statement from Roz Adams. Will try and find a text version tomorrow. (taken from a tweet at https://x.com/ginadavidsonlbc/status/1792326786409496723)

I’m coming round to the idea that the UK Govt needs to establish some sort of public inquiry into the suborning of the third sector, the civil service, the health service, and the judiciary via DEI and lobby groups giving incorrect, anti-democratic employment advice.

These are all institutions that are supposed to be impartial but a lot of things that are unlawful (and have been shown to be unlawful) have been done by multiple organisations, and people within those organisations, in how they treat those with different beliefs or with protected characteristics that are not viewed as worth protecting. There has been an emphasis on promoting ideology over and above carrying out the impartial functions of the organisation(s).

It’s such a relief, every time you get one of these results!

TBH it's starting to look like shooting fish in a barrel. one side is reasoned, reasonable, balanced and rooted in demonstrable reality. The other side are TIN FOIL HAT NUTTERS. Guess who wins, every time?

Myalternate · 20/05/2024 02:08

I’ve just finished reading all 109 pages!
It’s like a good book that you just can’t put down 😊

now I’m off to bed…

Morwenscapacioussleeves · 20/05/2024 03:43

Bloody brilliant 🎉
Fantastic statement from Roz too

AlisonDonut · 20/05/2024 03:55

Well done Roz.

And we get a new acronym. What's not to like?

unwashedanddazed · 20/05/2024 03:56

Just read the whole thing, it's really worth the effort!

Fantastic result. Hope the remedy really reflects the harm done.
