He said he apologises to people eating their breakfast'. Hmm

He is being questioned about his treatment of Rosie Duffield but he's not answered really and moved the convo swiftly to Brianna Ghey

Susannah said you told the MP Rosie Duffield that she is wrong to say only women have a cervix and he is again deflecting.

Says he believes in safe spaces for women.

Women's prisons? - deflects again to the NHS today. no answer to any direct questions.

Says again about safe spaces being important- but again deflecting and whittering about the constituion

SR asking for clarity- is it right or wrong for RD to say only women have a cervix - KS- she is biologically right. SR- should you apologise to her?
KS- deflects. Wants discussion. Not answering the question.

I'm giving up now. He can't even string a coherent sentence together. Keeps deflecting.

IMO of course.

Bear in mind this is the guy that everyone believes will be running the country soon
Just remember what happened to Neil Kinnock 😉

They might as well put a suit and tie on a milk based dessert.

I'm so disappointed in KS. When he took over from JC I was expecting a strong, decent leader who would steer the Labour Party with good, sensible equitable policy. Instead he's turned out to be a weak and mealy mouthed and not only thinks men can magically become women but is unwilling to protect the safety and dignity of women and children. He is an embarrassment as a leader.

Also, we're still waiting for your response to the Cass Report Kier !!??

At this point I have more respect for JC, who I would never vote for, for all sorts of reasons, but at least he has principles and a backbone.

Barbadossunset · 30/04/2024 10:45

I think it's his activists he's worried about.

Yes and they are a terrifying mob.
It shows how extraordinarily brave are those who have stood up to them are. I dread to think of what they and their families have had to face.

You can change your legal sex. Starmer relied on that in his origional position that a few women have a penis, he was thinking as a lawyer - a neat way to duck the question.

now his position has changed - slippy he is.

do we have any evidence he has a gender questioning child?

do we have any evidence he has a gender questioning child?

I can't see any other reason for his lack of engagement on this issue. If he has, let's face it it will be out in the open soon enough. Imagine if he's allowed his child to take PB in light of the Cass Report. That's not going to look good and could explain his silence on the report findings.

It was a symptom of 7 years worth of tabloid-stoked anti-trans sentiment piled atop an existing cultural baseline. He was right to mention it.

That's a disgusting lie. You and him should be ashamed.

How it is a lie when it was literally mentioned during sentencing?

Wherewerewerewear · 30/04/2024 10:56

Oh sht. I’ve got a bad feeling about this. IF it’s true, it doesn’t bode well at all. For many reasons. But no point in what ifs for now.

I’d just hope that should it be true - he is insightful enough to quietly leave, giving other reasons for the sake of his family. And for all women and children in the U.K.

Polishedshoesalways · 30/04/2024 10:58

I think we need to be extremely concerned that he will unwind all of the progress we have made so far.

He has barely moved a millimetre on this topic which makes me think he has accepted hefty donations on the understanding he delivers a pro trans agenda once in office.

Its either that or he could not care less about the rights of 51% of the electorate.

People will use the poor child’s murder for their gain, it’s horrendous but they will use whatever I guess

It's indicative of the tragedy happening in so many homes at the moment. All these girls (and some boys) believing the lie about changing sex with their parents veering from terror at the appalling outcomes for children and fear about being called a bigot and threatened with social services. The Social Work England response to the serious criticisms of them in the Rachel Meade case is an indication of how distorted values and ethics have become and how right parents are to be scared.

Managing this requires insight, confidence and the ability to prioritise the safety and welfare of children - not incoherence and weaponising a dreadful child murder as a shield to deflect from your own inadequate responses.

CaveMum · 30/04/2024 11:08

I really hope that Rosie Duffield comes out and says that, despite Kier's comments on having had many discussions with her, he hasn't actually spoken to her since 2021...

I agreee. However what would happen if he didn’t deliver a pro trans agenda once in office?
Would he have to pay back the donations? Would his family be threatened and the threats carried out?
Politicians breaking their word is hardly a novel idea.

MrsOvertonsWindow · 30/04/2024 08:41

Weaponising Brianna Ghey's murder in order to deflect from answering questions about his inability to accurately define a woman was a particular low from Starmer. 😡

Using that poor child to score points is unforgiveable.

Thegoodbadandugly · 30/04/2024 11:19

Due to Ofcom rules there are certain words that you are not supposed to use, so I presume this is probably why he has apologised. Are you a Tory? Are you trying to put people off voting for other parties? The Tories have done nothing but lie, remember COVID? Have you saw what the Tories plans are for the sick and vulnerable? That's all I have to say.

TheCoolOliveBalonz · 30/04/2024 11:22

I don't understand how a man who thinks it's wrong to say that only women have cervixes can be PM.

Rosie has been clear that Starmer hasn't spoken to her at all and never apologised for the dreadful bullying of her by labour party members / officials.

Labour MP accuses Keir Starmer of ignoring her after gender law abuse

Lord Falconer, who was Lord Chancellor under Tony Blair, said the PM's use of devolved powers to stop Holyrood's Gender Recognition Reform Act from receiving Royal Assent was not justified.

FFS! What would it take? The man's a TRA without the courage of his convictions.

Well summarised.

I really think this is it.

Or perhaps more likely, he is playing the long game so that once he is in power, he can start to enact TRA policies.

I think he is a disaster for women's rights and I will not vote for him.

duc748 · 30/04/2024 11:23

As I've remarked before about Starmer, every time he opens his mouth, I like him a little less. And, it used to be, 'and feel disinclined to vote for him'. But after repeated failures to speak up, that has progressed to 'it'd take a minor miracle for me to vote Labour now'.

TheCoolOliveBalonz · 30/04/2024 11:26

I would love KS or another Labour party person to come on FWR and explan to us why we should trust them.

People are really going to get better insults than 'ah ha!! I call you out as a TORY!!' In their arguments to discredit!

I haven't watched it yet but apparently she confirms the status of their working relationship on this podcast from last week:

Cervixes put people off their breakfast? Grow up Keir. You sound like a sniggering 14 year old if you meant that.

Pathetic man.

CranfordScones · 30/04/2024 11:38

"When you say 'safe spaces' do you mean single sex* spaces?" was the question he should have been pressed on until he gave an unequivocal answer.

*sex according to biological fact - because that's what the word bloody well means.

He can't have listened in Biology classes.
It's just ludicrous .
