He said he apologises to people eating their breakfast'. Hmm

He is being questioned about his treatment of Rosie Duffield but he's not answered really and moved the convo swiftly to Brianna Ghey

Susannah said you told the MP Rosie Duffield that she is wrong to say only women have a cervix and he is again deflecting.

Says he believes in safe spaces for women.

Women's prisons? - deflects again to the NHS today. no answer to any direct questions.

Says again about safe spaces being important- but again deflecting and whittering about the constituion

SR asking for clarity- is it right or wrong for RD to say only women have a cervix - KS- she is biologically right. SR- should you apologise to her?
KS- deflects. Wants discussion. Not answering the question.

I'm giving up now. He can't even string a coherent sentence together. Keeps deflecting.

IMO of course.

OK, I'll hold fire until I check for sure. Before I get REALLY ANGRY that female body parts are something to be ashamed of and so unpalatable that naming them might put people off their breakfast.

Here's another body part for you Kier - arsehole.

👏👏

ArabellaScott · 30/04/2024 08:41

'Journalists won't stop asking him about this as his previous excruciating comments (which Susannah & Richard Madeley read out) expose his lack of critical thinking about this.'

He should have a wee look at Scotland. What just brought down the BHA and thus the current administration, Keir?

You will be pressed on this, as will every Labour member of Parliament.

I guess Labour assume that they're going to win anyway so it doesn't matter how waffle, pathetic and incoherent they are?

MrsOvertonsWindow · 30/04/2024 08:41

Weaponising Brianna Ghey's murder in order to deflect from answering questions about his inability to accurately define a woman was a particular low from Starmer. 😡

ArabellaScott · 30/04/2024 08:42

This was his chance to reflect on Cass. He's running around a year behind everyone else.

SpringLobelia · 30/04/2024 08:42

burnoutbabe · 30/04/2024 08:40

The breakfast apologies also covered Richard saying penis.

aaah- I'd missed that. Penis and cervix. None of the people eating their breakfasts have either of course so might find the concept a bit off.

yes I thought so.

Starmer defaults to just describing a situation. So for this, he just states the law - some women are legally men, so some men have a cervix. Women can have 'safe' spaces.

He seems incapable of acknowledging that the law may cause problems in real life situations. Its as if reality is at fault for not making the law work.

He seems to use it as his fall back position. It's disgusting.

NoWordForFluffy · 30/04/2024 08:48

Does anybody know what Led by Donkeys' position is on this issue (i.e. will they be billboarding Labour's nonsense approach come GE time)?

INeedAPensieve · 30/04/2024 08:49

Scottish gov response to Cass was that it was a big report that they needed to think about. The big presentation by Jenny Minto was the opposite of a position statement, really.

Ah yes, you're right @ArabellaScott . It was kind of a non-statement statement. How long do they need to think about it? A month? A year? I don't have enough eye roll emojis to put down here. If Keir has said something then I've not seen it mentioned on the news. Which makes me think he hasn't. He is being elusive and shifty. Which is despicable considering what her findings have shown.

ArabellaScott · 30/04/2024 08:49

Brianna Ghey's murder was a tragedy. It has absolutely nothing to do with how gender incongruent or dysphoric children are treated by the NHS, or whether the NHS has single sex wards, or whether political quotas work on the basis on sex or gender. Or whether the BBC report Scarlet Blake as a woman. Or prisons. Etc.

Beowulfa · 30/04/2024 08:51

I actually have more respect for the fully committed TRA zealots, like the Scottish Green nutjob who genuinely thinks 4 year olds know their gender identity.

Starmer represents all that is worst about politicians (of any party); deliberate refusal to answer clear questions, wilful word-salading, blatant fudging of concepts ("safe spaces"), unable to change a position when presented with powerful evidence, own mistakes and apologise. He is literally a parody of a smarmy career politician straight out of a sitcom.

I look forward to AdamRyan telling me I'm wrong, and that Starmer actually unequivocally declared his support for women's sex-based rights in that interview.

MrsOvertonsWindow · 30/04/2024 08:52

I wonder what his handlers will think of that interview? To me it was a car crash for him as both presenters (Susanna in particular) refused to let him off the hook. She actually forced him to admit that Rosie was correct and he then couldn't bring himself to utter an apology.

So will he continue on this path of deny and look stupid or will he finally decide to behave like a responsible politician and reverse ferret over this?

I think we’ve all been ‘Adamed’

burnoutbabe · 30/04/2024 08:55

I think he did say prisons should be single sex.

Now separately we also have a law that allows some people to change legal sex so I can see why he doesn't quite want to go into that law for the 5000 who it applies to and single sex exemptions to that in equality law?) as that's a bit too complex for good morning Britain.

MultiPolarista · 30/04/2024 08:57

I have a friend who is so 'be kind' she spouts the Guardians/Labour line verbatim as soon as it comes out, and she was all 'but but Brianna!' for a while when I brought up the inconsistencies in the ideology, also Brianna's mum showing up in parliament as Sunak was making a statement on woman's rights.
I do think the Brianna Ghey tragedy was going to be Labour's trump card to shut down any GC speak, it does not seem to have taken off like they hoped though.

What I hope is that they will give him a new script that is one that people cannot poke holes in for his own dignity. But I somehow doubt that they will do that yet.

I can't ever respect the insane Maggie Chapman I don't even think she truly respects herself; she is away in her own wee world of nonsense, but I do get your point. Basically that she is nailing her colours to the mast so we all know her position quite clearly (mental as it is). Keir though? Nope. Smarmy career politician who changes his stance as frequently as the wind changes direction.

theDudesmummy · 30/04/2024 08:58

I didn't watch it (he puts me off my breakfast), but knowing that he mentioned Brianna Ghey has pushed me back again from my tentative thought that I might vote Labour again. What a cowardly arse.

Exactly. I can hardly believe even Starmer would pull such a despicable trick. What hold do the genderists have over him ffs?

PowerTulle · 30/04/2024 08:59

I don’t want Kiers fudged idea of a safe space. I want single SEX spaces. Unequivocal, uncomplicated, uncompromised sex based provisions.

And I’ve seen him default to the Ghey family before when asked about women’s rights. Using this tragic, troubled child’s death and their grieving family to twist an entirely unrelated political issue. If he can’t otherwise answer specific questions regarding women he’s beyond the pale now. He’s disgusting imho.

PronounssheRa · 30/04/2024 09:00

What is starmer afraid of, and who doesn't he want to upset?

Something is driving this to make him act so slippery

PoppySeedBagelRedux · 30/04/2024 09:02

People have suggested that one of his children may be trans identifying...

Do we? A law to change sex?
And its too complex a discussion for This Morning viewers?... Seems thats a bit of a 'hush now, Don't bother your little head about that' of you.
