If transwomen are women, and women are cis women, are transwomen cis women?

Obviously not. They're men. But how can transwomen insist on being women and then recategorise women as cis women without it exposing their whole position as fundamentally flawed?

Trans women are frightened that if they're outed they won't be taken seriously. Trans men are frightened that if they're outed they'll be raped so violently it takes several surgical procedures to repair the damage.

Irony there being that if anyone genuinely believed TWAW, they would never have been pandered to by other misogynists taken seriously and the movement would never have gained any power.

Short answer is no

Long answer is apply this to the situation

If snow is water, and water is rain, is snow rain? Also no.
This is the classic example of a geometric proof showing that you can have two very different specific things that both fall under one general term. It is meant to teach students that just because A=B and B=C it is not always a given that A=C

Try this one too

If a cat is a pet, and a pet is a dog, is a cat a dog?

Hope this gets that 💡 lit for you.

As I am sure you realise, the = you refer to doesn’t necessarily mean “equals”. It can mean “is a subset of” or “is an example of”. We need to be careful about our use of language, because it is often imprecise and we make assumptions based on our prejudices and on context. This, of course, is why the deliberate obfuscation of terms such as “woman”, “man”, “male”, “female” is a problem.

It’s very difficult to explain to a gender zealot what the problem is with their blurring of the meanings of words, because as soon as you try to stand up for the plain old definition you are accused of transphobia, or (even worse!) conservatism. And yet it is the gender ideologues who often seem wedded to gender stereotypes, and take a thoroughly regressive stance.

Edited to correct a typo.

That opened my eyes to the idea that some trans people do genuinely feel distressed about their own body. Rather than just coveting someone else's. They actually just want to be something, maybe anything, other than what they actually are. Perhaps it would be cruel not to help these people escape their distress. But I find it hard not to believe that they would be better off with help to come to terms with themselves as they are.

Some Trans people are really quite angry that body dysmorphia has been removed as a requirement for being trans as they say that it undermines who they are as Trans people.

Yes that's true, and the rest of the trans community call them "truscum" for it, or malign them as "transmedicalists"

rest of the trans community

I think you misspelled "middle-aged straight misogynist men with a sissy kink", easily done

Im sure taking up woman’s sport would be a great benefit:

As long as it's not sport being invaded by male fetishists.

The root of all this is misogyny with a side of homophobia. It's why it's become a political force beloved by governments and industry.
