Is there a backstory here or is he spouting random nonsense? Would MNHQ be interested in his defaming their site, also some ageism and condescension.

I'm pretty sure I remember an old thread about him and talk of something like being a 'woke Islington type' <very much not verbatim>.

Only time I've seen him mentioned on here was a thread where the overwhelming consensus was that he's an unfunny knob who thinks he's significantly better than everybody else - and that he made a inane racist joke in an interview at the expense of Ang Lee.

met him at a signing (yes I know I was dragged to a show - which was pish full of self congratulatory ‘intellects yah’) and it said you got a dvd - but you had so line up.

He was rude/abrupt abrupt me - he didn’t want to be there (he’d just come off his set and looked sweaty and knackered - but neither did I and I didn’t make the rule that you HAD to be handed the dvd by the man himself - so he should have had a wide with management).

I looked into his face… I can spot ‘nasty’ when I see it. I have a ‘dick radar’. This was well before he decided to go after the hard target of mumsnet.

It seems to be a badge of honour for some people to profess their loathing of Mumsnet as if it's cool. They don't seem to have the nous to realise they're mainly trying to ingratiate themselves with misogynists.

There've been a lot of weird verbal sideswipes at MN in the press recently from people like Lee. I think it's because of the Cass Report confirming what we've been saying and their desperate need to put women who speak up back in their collective place.

Despite the pm function on Mumsnet very little happens on here in secret so if harassment was being orchestrated it would be visible- she wouldn’t believe it was, she would know and be able to prove it.

Husband and I went to see him recently - used to like a lot of his old stuff.

It was a massive disappointment, especially when he started having a go at JKR and implying she was morally wrong, then having a go at mumsnet and making very misogynistic comments about wine drinking mummies radicalising people - as if your brains fall out once youve had a baby (and wilfully blind to the fact that men and non mums also use this site). And apparently we are 'just' wine drinking mummies, but at the same time really dangerous radicals 🙄

I was so upset by being dismissed by an old white man with no skin in the womens rights game I cried on the bus home. Husband was also pissed off and has lost all respect for him.

I loathe Stewart Lee. I used to think I wasn't clever enough for his brand of oh so intelligent comedy and that's why I didn't get it. Turns out that actually he's just not funny.
