And they're still reading it

But it sounds like they're carrying on regardless: 🤷🏻‍♀️

"Business as usual" from this.

Stonewall admit they didn't understand.

Stonewall generate a public storm by telling untruths about the Cass report to the extent that Dr Cass has to be warned to stay away from public transport because of threats to her safety and now claim they didn't understand.

So many other things they fail to understand - same sex attraction, safeguarding children, women's rights, not misrepresenting the law, how to respect others in a democratic society to name just a few.

Plasmodesmata · 22/04/2024 19:02

Are they admitting that they didn't read the report itself but did read Billy Braggs twitter instead?

Redshoeblueshoe · 22/04/2024 19:04

I didn't realise I was blocked by Stonewall. Does anyone know if they use a block list ?

WarriorN · 22/04/2024 19:04

Basically innit.

And probably that garbled paper that that went in about "cis het supremacy."

"Engagement with NHS England will be an important part of our ongoing work"...
One small bit of progress is that NHS England have dumped the Stonewall diversity scheme. But Stonewall are so embedded in the NHS that prising them away from influencing the healthcare of vulnerable children for their own political ends will be bloody difficult.

Boiledbeetle · 22/04/2024 19:17

At what point do people realise listening to Stonewall will just get you in trouble as those who run Stonewall are really quite thick.

LizzieSiddal · 22/04/2024 19:41

I’m surprised they’ve actually admitted it tbh.

We all now await public apologies from Bragg, Jones etc etc.

lonelywater · 22/04/2024 19:49

Well that's them fucked then (not before time). Anything other than "Cass is a blueprint for genocide" would have the loons howling, whilst admitting previous treatment (which they are to a great degree responsible for) was dire means that most will be wondering what is the point of them anymore.

Toseland · 22/04/2024 19:53

I've often wondered where Stonewall get their ideas - do you think they are following another group?

drspouse · 22/04/2024 19:55

"we didn't read it"
"a big boy did it and ran away".

I suspect it's more a case of, whatever us GC wims say, say the opposite.

I am so BORED of this shit.

Floisme · 22/04/2024 19:57

My goodness that's quite a climbdown.

I wonder if someone's had a word with them and, if so, who?

Theeyeballsinthesky · 22/04/2024 19:59

Did they give the report to their support wombats to read?

they’re a shambles!

FlakyPoet · 22/04/2024 20:03

I think Cass saying that she couldn’t use public transport and speaking in no uncertain terms about people deliberately misrepresenting the findings of the review - how they are actively harming children and her calling a meeting with them and others, may have given them the wake up call.

Mytholmroyd · 22/04/2024 20:03

"we didn't read it"
"a big boy did it and ran away".

Delicious! What a shower - but a dangerous one.

WickedSerious · 22/04/2024 20:03

They should do us all a favour, fold and fuck off

Floisme · 22/04/2024 20:05

Did I also read that Dawn Butler has apologised to Parliament (or at least backtracked) for misrepresenting Cass? It might have been on Twitter, not on this board.

WarriorN · 22/04/2024 20:06

There's a whole section that explained the methodology in the report.

They didn't bloody read it!

Well she did and then somehow still managed to blame women

And they still think that they have the same access to decision makers? I'm sure they'll try, but they won't be the only ones at the table now (not that they should be there at all).

PronounssheRa · 22/04/2024 20:23

Butlers apology for unintentionally misleading the house is appalling. Even when wrong she still blames others.

CornishPorsche · 22/04/2024 20:25

No apologies in any of it I see.

And plenty of waffle.

Quelle surprise.

PronounssheRa · 22/04/2024 20:25

That is she blames stonewall for the initial misleading, but rather than stop there, she goes on to put the boot into women.
