Unfortunately the GR is out of the running for FM, as concerns were raised about it being overskilled and showing up the previous incumbents.

I watched it on the big telly and can't find a clip to post.

There was a woman crouching down outside the Parliament building in the back of the shot, patting her knees in a "Here boy" manner.

GR trotted up to her and immediately flipped over on its back for a tummy rub. Dog person and woman chatted for a bit then they all started to walk off but just as the humans exited stage left, GR plonks its bum on the ground just behind Lorna and has a long hard scratch behind the ears. Dog exits shot then a second later pops back in for another scratch.

Scene then cut to inside Parliament.

Dogs eh?

It's like they just don't care.

I would love to see a golden retriever in a government position.
They would cheer everyone up with their unstoppable cheerfulness and probably evoke far more humanity than currently exists.

A golden retriever would certainly bring more political nouse to the front benches that any of the other humans who inhabit them at the moment.

I'd pay good money to replace all the human numpties in scotgov with dogs.
GR for FM
Jack Russell for deputy fm. Everyone would be too scared of him getting in to oust the fm.....
Education - German shepherd. Very serious and responsible, and yet silly at times. Good combo for kids.
Health - working cocker spaniel. Busy busy busy!
Environment - labrador. Likes being outdoors and socially caring, unlike those feckwits in the greens.
