Free vasectomies would have the same effect without the pollution from making drugs and their packaging.

That's very true but I don't think The Greens are that rational.

Sitting here on a Friday night, having a wee think about the seismic changes in Scottish politics which have happened over the last week (clearly my days of drinking and clubbing of a Friday night are long gone 😆), I thought I would re-read the two Under the Duvet of Darkness books. For any new posters on this board, they are a good explanation of how we got to this point, through the medium of poems written by posters on this board. Available on Amazon, profits go to FWR.

I'm still hoping we get to do a third volume!

I fully endorse this post (Except the last line, I'm pretending I didn't see the last line)

I'll even make it easy..

Under the Duvet of Darkness volume 1:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0C129WKDD

Under the Duvet of Darkness volume 2:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0CMJZ43VZ

To add:

£2000 has been raised for For Women Scotland so far from the sales, which according to Trina will pay for a couple of hours of a barrister or a hell of a lot of Tunnocks.

The Scottish Greens are revolting

Transwomen are women
Or maybe they're not
Oh bugger

Sharing this article mostly because of this gem of disingenuity by Mhairi Hunter:

"Writing on X, she said: “One of the things that absolutely does my head in is people saying the SNP must stop focusing on identity politics. The SNP doesn’t. It is the SNP’s opponents who do that.
For example, people who spend a quite extraordinary amount of time tweeting and writing and talking about trans people will turn round and say, ‘Why does the SNP spend so much time talking about trans people?’ It doesn’t. But they do.”"

Humza Yousaf: a nice guy but he’s got no ideas and nowhere to go

The Scotland first minister’s policies from gender recognition to a hated hate crime law may well be his downfall, in spite of his doe-eyed persona

I'm going between hysterical laughing and crying at how absolutely fucked my country is.

How did it come to this?

Also do you think when the tras are feeling joyous they sing along to "man I feel like a women" then when they are feeling fed up and they need a touch of reality it's "dude looks like a lady"?? 😂

#triggered...

The Times on the wedges of cash still being spaffed on Stonewall by ScotGov

https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/scottish-government-gave-the-most-grants-to-stonewall-last-year-3dzzh9ll7

https://archive.ph/ypmM5 bypass paywall

If I read or hear the phrase 'authentic self/selves' again I might actually scream. Wasn't there evidence that many men in the fire service were sexist pigs? That's their 'authentic self', bigotted to complain about it.

All people should be bringing to work is the ability to do their jobs and do them well. That's what should be encouraged. Also decent help available to deal with trauma suffered in the course of their work.

Scottish government ‘gave the most grants to Stonewall’ last year

It is ranked 46th on the LGBT group’s top employers list and has given more than any other UK public body, despite growing criticism

I have a theory that the reason The Greens have embraced gender woo and puberty blockers is because it's an (admittedly crazy) way of reducing the population and therefore helps the environment.
I can't think of any other reason they'd go for something so obviously insane.

It isn't a theory. We had a Green Activist on here several months [many months? - a while back anyway] saying exactly that.

quote:

‘To put it more bluntly: after a week of turmoil, how can he survive for long even if he narrowly wins a confidence vote?
The answer, according to another senior source close to Mr Yousaf, is brutal — "he can't."’

Winning the vote or not, he won’t survive as FM.

Humza Yousef

Will winning a confidence vote be enough to save Humza Yousaf?

The future of Scotland's first minister is far from secure after a week of turmoil.

I think he's best put out of his misery...it must be awful for him. The level of ridicule is equivalent to that bestowed upon Liz Truss.

It’s hard to be sympathetic. Both Humza and Harvie have entirely brought this on themselves. They brought the fanatical TRAs into their fold. Did the honestly think they could control them? Did they honestly think the TRAs would never turn on them?

Humza and the SNP courted and pandered to gender ideology and then the TRAs turned on them at the first ‘obedience’ to TRA demands of total capitulation. ( Sandyford stopping PB).

Harvie pandered and tied himself as a true believer to TRAs and all their demands. He welcomed them in the party and courted them. then they turned on him by demanding the Greens leave the coalition over Sandyford.

That gave Humza no real option but to kick the Greens out first.

This entire mess is due to them courting fanatics and ideologies. Did they honestly not have the wit to understand the nature of what they were in bed with? That totally capitulation and obedience is all they would accept?

Watching Harvie tantrum and rage against Hunza is a master class in failing to take personal responsibility.

He brought alll this entirely on his own head. As did Humza. I have no sympathy.

I do hope other parties are noting the lessons of what happens when you court gender ideologies. They’ll turn on you too.

Chersfrozenface · 27/04/2024 09:35

I suspect Humza's problem is that he is a politician, accustomed, at least to some extent, to trimming his sails to the wind.

Ideologues don't do that, for them it's all or nothing.

The same applies to many if not most politicians. Politics courses should have a module on the perils of trying to harness fanatics to your bandwagon, and political advisors should have a 101 file on it.

Rightsraptor · 27/04/2024 10:10

Has anyone done a study yet on the link between how much money you give Stonewall and the adverse effects?

@IcakethereforeIam above provides The Times link saying that Scottish government has given most grants to Stonewall. And the disaster befallen them now seems pretty big. (This last bit is my own highly technical analysis).

I, on the other hand, never give them a penny and life is quite nice, thank you.

There must be some connection, surely.

Feckedupbundle · 27/04/2024 10:13

I have not a jot of sympathy for any of them. These people are well renumerated by the public and are supposedly intelligent. It isn't hard to be well informed about any matter these days, with information at our fingertips 24/7,so the wilful idiocy of our political classes on both sides of the border is inexcusable.

I'm very much enjoying this shit show. As yes sow,so shall ye reap, and waving all the rainbow flags in the world won't save you.

Agree. The SNP took a calculated, clear-eyed decision to throw women under the bus with the gender reform bill. They deserve all they get.

lonelywater · 27/04/2024 13:53

The TRA's are like Chairman Mao's red guard-utter fanatics. You cannot reason or bargain with people like this-your only sensible option is to stay as far away as possible from them and make sure they are in charge of nothing more important than a whelk stall.

Presided over by a woman, too. Unforgivable and, to me, incomprehensible.

FFS, could this get any worse?

"He (Salmond) said the “top line” in discussions would be an electoral pact between Alba and the SNP, reviving his party’s Scotland United proposal for an alliance between the three nationalists parties — the SNP, Greens and Alba — to work together to maximise pro-independence MPs."

I'm gobsmacked

Pete Wishart, a veteran SNP MP, said: “We cannot give Alba any concessions, because they will keep coming back again and again for more, dragging us down their agenda to places we do not want to go.

Like the Greens, ffs, but less insane!

And I wouldn't trust Salmond to not throw women and kids under the bus.
