Hopefully this will open the gates for there to be appropriate therapy for children (and adults actually) who say that they are so unhappy with what they call their 'gender' (or personality as I would say) that they want to kill themselves/hurt themselves and that therapy should focus on learning to love and value and accept themselves and manage their life

But of course that is apparently called 'conversion therapy'.

I really hope there are guidelines for what material schools can and can't use. DD (17) is very much into gender ideology and is appalled at my GC views, thinks Jk Rowling is transphobic etc.
She came home from a PSHE lesson from school a few years ago having got the idea that puberty blockers were a good thing and allowed adolescents to effectively pause puberty if they felt conflicted about their gender and that it was all reversible.

Well - 6 months ago this debate just wouldn't have happened.
It's been suggested on here for uyears that ot was going fornchildren that would eventually bust this issue open - just as we've seen.

I really hope that parents will now start feel empowered to challenge what's happening in certain schools, to protest when political lobby groups are allowed to try to influence children and to blow the whistle if adults in schools try to transition their children in secret.

I am reassured by VA's statement that we will implement Cass first, then have an enquiry. It reassures me that she is sincere. Because if you wanted to sound tough but do nothing, promising an enquiry would be your go-to response. So action first, stop harming kids asap. Me likey.

Isn't it interesting that within a couple of months, maybe weeks, rooting out gender ideology from healthcare and education - at least - has become the ground on which both major parties want to fight. Or at least appear to be fighting.

I really hope this does lead to a proper inquiry looking at how this ideology became so entrenched in the NHS, schools, universities, the civil service etc
