Ha - VA responding to Russel L M reminsing everyone about his intimidatory behaviour to Miriam Cass

soupfiend · 15/04/2024 18:25

Why has it taken so long
Why does it take a report like Cass to suddenly give people bravery to say all this (which is common sense)
I hope it doesnt just focus on NHS medical pathways, the problem is far more insidious than that, look at the books for children now written as ifyou can only be strong and brave once you've turned into the boy you knew you were, schools, mixed toilets, the use of the word gender when it means sex

All of this is part of the problem (and more)

Wow. Secretary of State directly calls out LRM for parliamentary behaviour towards Miriam Cates MP while he calls for an end to toxic debate. Particularly delicious given the look of Rosie Duffield behind him.

Debate happening in House of Commons: Victoria Atkins on fire
Noicant · 15/04/2024 18:25

I honestly think there were probably a fair few MP’s who are fucking delighted they can now public rebuff all this guff. Of course most of them didn’t have enough of a backbone to say what they knew to be true when women were getting trampled on. But I don’t doubt there will be a much more robust defence of children, safeguarding and womens rights in parliament.

At one point I felt quite despondent about the possibility that sanity would return. Between the Cass report and the SNP kindly confirming that misgendering isn’t a crime I’m feeling pretty positive.

Madcats · 15/04/2024 18:25

This all sounds promising.

I suspect there will be almighty fights in the Civil Service/NHS but at least a few more MPs on both sides are beginning to realise what has been happening on their watch. I await my LibDem MP's comments with interest.

Thank you to all the very strong whistleblowers who worked so hard to save those poor kids.

Ironically, there is "no debate". The whole house has come together to condemn gender ideology and reject state capture.

RedToothBrush · 15/04/2024 18:29

Rosie and Lloyd

Lloyd is a bully and disgrace. He’ll never accept it’s over.

Neale Hanvey MP powerfully lays out the case for this area predominantly adversely affecting LGB youth. His heroism and bravery speaking up for us continues. Thank you AT JNHanvey

Sir Bill Cash "This is about telling the truth". Secretary of state says she completely agrees that work must now start in earnest to drive change.

FUCK ME. I think I just agree with Bill Cash for the first time in my life.

Secretary of State "We have had some constructive conversation with regulators" in respect of medics who try to circumvent Cass. Government not messing around. Great to hear.

Cleebope2 · 15/04/2024 18:36

Yes and I agree with Sammy Wilson DUP for first time too

RedToothBrush · 15/04/2024 18:39

Key Take Home Points on this so far:

CROSS PARTY AGREEMENT
CONGRATULATIONS FOR EVERYONE WHO CHALLENGED THE CRAP
BEING FRAMED AS A MEDICAL SCANDAL
BEING FRAMED AS CHILD HAVING BEEN HARMED
QUESTIONS RAISED ABOUT ACCOUNTABILITY
TALK OF STOPPING PRIVATE PRACTIONERS FROM EXPLOITING LOOPHOLES
CASS MUST BE IMPLIMENTED ACCORDING TO PRETTY MUCH ALL SPEAKERS
SOME TUMBLEWEEDS FROM SOME POLITICAL QUARTERS. STILL.

Datun · 15/04/2024 18:42

And because they all realise that it is LGB youth that is targeted, they're going to have to ring fence homosexuality, and what it means.

And one of the things it means, is that men can't be lesbians.

RedToothBrush · 15/04/2024 18:43

VA talking about the need for detransitioners and what the NHS can provide.

Sir Ben Bradshaw going on that its not ok for saying that being trans is an ideology and saying that VA said it was ideology. VA says that it is ideology that is driving the institutions to go against protocols but it is not an ideology to be trans.

oldwomanwhoruns · 15/04/2024 18:43

Too many mentions of the 'trans child' (etc) from the Labour side for me.
Oh god now one of them is going on about how poor, poor Victoria the judge has been driven from 'her' job...
Labour are a liability.

RedToothBrush · 15/04/2024 18:44

There is a fair a amount of comment about Education and the need to change safeguarding and policy in Education - particularly with reference with Wales and Scotland.

There's been a few MPs raise this now.

Stella Creasy talking about the scared children who are going to get delayed.

I'm feeling a bit bloody emotional, about this. Okay, they needed the Cass report to legitimise the damn breaking.

But I wasn't sure it ever would break. I thought water might just trickle away behind the scenes until ten years later it was gone.

But it's bloody whooshing out!!

Every step of the way, I and many others, have thought right, this will do it. Oh, okay it hasn't. But this has to do it. Okay well this will certainly do it.

Mentally writing every headline.

But now, this really IS doing it 😄!!!

Still trying to spot a lesser yellow bellied Lib Dem in the Chamber...

Anyone can say they're the opposite sex. Knock yourself out.

The ideology means we have to agree.

And change everything to accommodate it.

Alexander Stafford talking about a school in Rother Valley fund raising for Mermaids. He says that Mermaids should have no place in our educational system...

But it's bloody whooshing out!!

This will create some interesting conversations in work DEI teams.

Bring it on. An end to no debate.

that would be the same Dawn "babies are born without a biological sex" Butler? You would think after saying that you would retire to your basement to subsist on fried egg sandwiches, never to be seen in public ever again.

She has form for being an embarrassment. How some people ever get elected at all is a mystery to me, but I suppose it's a testament to good old fashioned democracy that even when you are Dawn Butler, if enough people want you in the job, you get the job.

RedToothBrush · 15/04/2024 18:49

VA saying there is no place for any type of this kind of campaigning in our educational system.
