Stonewall states that “misgendering” isn’t a crime

In an astonishing twist, Stonewall has stated that correctly sexing men is not a crime.

They are, of course, only admitting this now it’s been made very clear by Police Scotland’s reaction to JK Rowling.

They said nothing over the years as women were chucked off social media, for correctly sexing men. Not sure if anyone was actually arrested for only doing it, but they have allowed the fear to fester on and on, leading to chilling of free speech.

What a bunch of weasels they are.

Adult human males

Ah.

Unfortunately, I suspect that most adult human males are fairly unbothered by unisex toilets.

I had a row with an adult human male (who is generally a good egg) recently, because he said that the toilet issue had been resolved in his workplace by making nearly all the toilets unisex, and wasn't very receptive to my pointing out that this will have reduced access to toilets for many of his female colleagues.

KnitFastDieWarm · 04/04/2024 16:58

Jesus, if that ferret reverses any faster it’ll get whiplash.

lechiffre55 · 04/04/2024 16:59

Why do people want to share toilets with others anyway?
If I committed some heineous faux pas at work and they decided to send me to toilet Coventry as punishment and made me use a toliet no one else used I would be in heaven. My own private toilet! I'd use it to take the mickey too, Don't have your own toilet? How very gauche of you.

I feel some of the comments on this thread are very unfair. Weasels are fearless, resourceful predators and as Britain's smallest carnivore often hunt animals larger than themselves. Weasel mothers are the sole providers for their litter and will fiercely defend their young against larger attackers.

I will offer up "a bunch of brazen Tatchells" as an alternative.

Doesn't that make boy weasels deadbeat dads though ? It's all how you spin it

lonelywater · 04/04/2024 17:08

First the Scottish Babylon, now the grifters in chief, Himdia is having a very, very bad week. Oh dear, never mind.

I'm Team Weasel. Go Weasels!

Ferrets, on the other hand...

enchantedsquirrelwood · 04/04/2024 18:24

An employment lawyer told me yesterday that if someone has a GRC it IS a crime to misgender or deadname them.

I realised that she is completely captured. I hope she is a little less biased when she advises clients though.

Gagagardener · 04/04/2024 18:41

1 x t in ferreting. Stress is on the first syllable. (Ferretting - just nah!) IMHO

Cf Toileting. Toiletting, anyone? Thought not.

Edited to add 2nd example of bisyllabic word with stress on 1st syllable.

Henceforth I will always use a Sneak of Weasels as the collective noun

DH & I celebrate Weaselmas on 31st September, which is to say we celebrate 'All Liars' Eve' on the 30th. Do please join us this year.

Btw, do you know how to tell a stoat from a weasel?

One's weaselly recognised & the other's stoatally different.
Boom-tish!

turbonerd · 04/04/2024 20:51

Looks like the tail is longer in the stoat!
And I’m shocked at the size of those ferrets.

Was it weasel that was farmed not far from my house for fur some decades ago I wonder? It was mayhem when some activists released them all and the poor animals proceeded to wipe out much of our Bird population. It’s taken this long for some of them to recover.

I realise I’m terrible for derailing threads. I do apologize.

Suspect it was more likely to have mink? They're really vicious little things.

I would suggest you haven't lived until you have seen a ferret on a lead being walked past your caravan by a teenager.

I did hear tell on the wireless a few years back that having lost the saddling trade, crafty Walsallians have cornered the world market in leather ferret gear. (It was local front page news when it turned out Obamas favourite candy was topped with Black Country salt ...)

Snowypeaks · 04/04/2024 21:15

I've seen a ferret being taken around a local minimart on a lead by a young person. Does that count?

Snowypeaks · 04/04/2024 21:15

They are very small. And also very long. They would totally fit down your trousers.

There must be a Disney song in this ...

Chersfrozenface · 04/04/2024 21:20

Obama's favourite sweets were Fran's Caramels made with Pure Sea Salt Smoked Over Welsh Oak from Anglesey.

AFAIK, culinary salt is only produced on Anglesey, in Maldon, Essex, and in Cornwall.

I realised that she is completely captured. I hope she is a little less biased when she advises clients though.

Did you ask her to reference the legislation which makes it a criminal offence?

There are three potential bases on which it could be improper (that I can think of):

  • It’s an offence to disclose a person’s transgender status if you are in possession of that information in a professional capacity (eg as their healthcare professional or their employer).
  • In the case of a spent conviction under a previous name it could be a breach to disclose it.
  • If workplace harassment of an individual took the form of misgendering.

But that does not mean that any and all ‘misgendering’ is a criminal offence.

Also I’m not sure she’s correct that an individual would have to be in possession of a GRC to benefit from those legal protections.

It was probably mink.
Now I have to Google the difference between weasel and mink!

It WAS a fashion to have weasels (or mink) as pets. I Wonder why that stopped?

Wolverine is a mustelid. Whaddaya know!

Are you sure that's not ferrets? Same family, domesticated animals, probably descended from European polecats.

What if you are "in possession" of the knowledge because you happened to go to school with "Chloe" when they were "Colin" and lighting their farts in the playground ?

I remember people having pet ferrets as a popular rat deterrent.

I used to walk past a bus stop where there was a young man, wearing a black leather jacket, who would have a ferret about his person. The ferret would move up and down the sleeves or curl round his neck inside the jacket. It made a difference from people giving white rats the run of their person.

Yes - I've seen a mink or too in the wild, too - those fecking activists released a predator that has decimated huge numbers of Britain's wildlife.

Snowypeaks · 05/04/2024 10:46

Just noticed in that graphic about British mustelids that the weasel looks like a tiny furry dinosaur.
