Woman arrested after two men found dead

Just wanted to post an update to this story - the woman initially charged (an actual woman) has been let go with no further action. It’s no longer an active criminal investigation and has been passed to coroner for inquest (suspect it will eventually be ruled a murder/suicide but that’s my own personal speculation).

I will update again if I come across any press relating to the inquest.

(condolences to any family who may come across this mumsnet thread, must be awful to lose two family members at once and then have the case drag on for so long and still be waiting for the final resolution)

What’s significance is ‘the deaths are no longer being investigated’? Was it a murder suicide, I wonder? Or have they the perpetrator?

I don’t know the exact process but believe it’s up to the coroner to determine whether a death is suicide/misadventure/unlawful killing etc so I don’t think the police can say anything definitive until the coroner’s decision is made.

Deffo wasn’t the woman who was originally arrested and they haven’t arrested anyone else/are no longer looking for a suspect.

The inquest was in October. Ruled a murder-suicide. The father killed the son, then himself.

The woman initially arrested was the younger man’s partner, who was at the scene and raised the alarm.
