I just love this bloody fabulous role model for the women and girls of our time. JKR is giving us the language and educating boys and men in what can be said within the realms of what's legal in an non offensive way. She is such an influential figure. Willoughby is an offensive, narcissistic fantasist.

There were comments last night in the Times online about this, nearly all supportive of JKR. No comments allowed today, also not allowed to comment on a piece about Pets at Home diversity bollox. Just sent a complaint to the Times.

The Telegraph comments show which way the wind is blowing. Be ye a Bobble Hatted Miscreant, a Big Brother inside Big Brother or Teacher's Special Secret, let it be known that noone is fooled and fewer people by the day feel compelled to play along.

I’ve just seen it. Hardly surprised he decided after a few hours to apologise for his antics in the early hours. He had a tantrum basically because like you say realised he’d made a right idiot of himself. He’s only 7 years younger than me - I’m 37 - and I’m a hot headed person but by 30 I knew when to rein it in and not show yourself up.

It is on the one hand relieving in a way that people are starting to get more vocal about it. However, I have been concerned with how passive a lot of people have been previously over this. My friends off social media have been surprised by how bothered I’ve been about related issues but one or two agree with me and are also worried.

The other thing that worries me - and it’s a side-issue - is the whole detransitioner side of things. Seems to me after reading several harrowing accounts that there have been people who have not been properly supported, probably didn’t have true gender dysmorphia but have gone on to make some catastrophic decisions and have regretted it. I made this point elsewhere the other day on Facebook and had this strange person downplaying it, claiming it’s a non-issue. Well… it isn’t.

Surprise surprise this same person was also trying to argue there’s a TERF conspiracy to rid the world of trans people! The usual rubbish that’s thrown in the direction of anyone who has concerns about single-sex spaces being reserved and concerns over children’s welfare.

Cue much wailing and gnashing of teeth and a threat to flounce out of the UK from IW no doubt.

IW's threats and behavior are just so... male.

JKR is just so gracious and, for want of a better word, ladylike. She's my girl crush. A woman with a heart of gold and a pen of steel. They say it's mightier than the sword.

My nephew was struggling with reading and writing, falling behind in class. Until he was given his first Harry Potter book.

He's not the first and won't be the last child helped by JKR. For that, I am forever in her debt.

For her strength in standing up for all women, including women like me who have suffered abuse from men and for whom the thought of sharing a space with a male is still terrifying, she is simply amazing.

Other thread has filled up. Willoughby is claiming that a "non crime hate incident" has been recorded against JK Rowling. I hope she does a subject access request to check this and challenges it if so. She's got the clout to do so and bring much needed sunlight to the whole practice, that the police have been told several times they are abusing.

How would Willoughby know that?

I think Willoughby's claim is that the police said that was how they were resolving the case.

Willoughby claims an awful lot of things that are, um, not correct. I'll wait for confirmation on that from a more trustworthy source, if it is correct I am sure JKR will have the Police for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
