Re Older thread about a sort of trans stranglehold on BBC reporting, I think it may have been this one:

I've just come into MN to post about this.

This is the short Archive link if that makes it easier:

No names mentioned in the article, just the words of 'BBC insiders' but they are saying all the right things. They reveal that all the complaints about the BBC's heavily pro-trans bias (including several from me) to Tim Davie are filtered out by Phil Harrold, who seems to wield a great deal of influence and be wedded to the promotion of the T:

Good to see that rebellion is growing at the Beeb.

Is that the letter the NHS Trust stands by? 🤔

Myalternate · 20/02/2024 16:37

Thank you 😀
Is there any link to the study referenced at (e) Weimar AK Lactation Induction in a Transgender Women:Macronutrient Analysis and Patient Perspectives. Journal of Human Lactation ? because in the actual letter there is only reference to a transgender man 🤔

Floisme · 20/02/2024 16:40

Thanks to everyone who's linked Milli Hill's substack. Before I even got as far as the the studies and the letter, this jumped out in the first paragraph:
'Luxion, who is a researcher at UCL and trainee lactation consultant'

A Trainee.
interviewed on the BBC about a topic they're not even fully qualified in.
Nobody else interviewed.

Milli discusses this too.

There's so much to unpick here.

I've sent a complaint to the BBC on this; the expert is not an expert. She said moob secretions were the same or higher quality than breastmilk... factually incorrect. Higher fat does not equal higher quality, and there was no measure of what "extras" were in there.

Anyway, if you want to complain. The link is here:

https://www.bbc.co.uk/contact/complaints/make-a-complaint/#/Complaint

The show is called "The Context", shown on BBC News.

I think the piece was on around 21:00 (it asks for this info but I can't remember the exact time).

It was linked upthread, but is not free access.

I also complained that Luxion is not impartial due to being a proponent of gender ideology

Thanks to everyone who's linked Milli Hill's substack.

Yes, it's an excellent piece, isn't it? I was struck by the fact that they sent an unqualified trainee, too. It's an absolutely shocking way for them to drive their agenda.

Floisme · 20/02/2024 17:25

Yes it's a really good piece.
So many questions:
How did an unqualified person come to be nominated as an expert?
Who nominated them?
Did no-one at the BBC even notice their lack of qualifications?
Was a representative of the NHS Trust invited to speak - surely the obvious thing to do?
Why was there no-one to present the counterbalancing viewpoint?

And that's before you even get to these so-called studies - but I'll leave Milli Hill to take them apart.

Isn't it AMAZING that time and again we are told that, not only are transwomen real women, but that they are BETTER and MORE SUCCESSFUL at being women than actual women.
Seriously, they're sexier, dress better, shag better, have higher levels of female hormones, take your pick.

Now they even have better BREAST MILK than actual women.
They even nourish children better than us!

Bow down to the phenomenon that is transwomen everyone! They're fucking brilliant at everything, especially being women! Well, better than us old XX dinosaurs anyway......

Seems to be a Diversity champion that is in training for lactation professional. Strange innit that they couldn't find someone fully qualified, I agree.

elgreco · 20/02/2024 17:39

A trainee who identities as an expert is coherent with trans ideology.

RufusthefIoraImissingreindeer · 20/02/2024 17:40

They can fuck right off with the fucking shite

Beneath the phenomenon of male breastfeeding lurks an unpalatable truth – that there is often a sexual or fetishistic element at play when men seek to emulate women’s bodily functions.

Yep.

Though not all cases of ‘breastfeeding’ transwomen are sexually motivated...

I disagree.

ButterflyHatched · 20/02/2024 22:40

catduckgoose · 20/02/2024 08:46

We can expect all these same sort of arguments when modern-day Mengeles figure out how to implant a woman's stolen uterus in a man's body without it killing him.

"A woman's stolen uterus" good grief.

I disagree too - why people need to say 'oh it can't possibly all be sexual' I don't know - what other reason can there possibly be? There's no benefit to the baby, at all. One thing that's quite remarkably unwomanly about it all is how few fucks about the baby's wellbeing are given.

And then women are given a hard time if they want something a bit stronger than paracetamol for their massive abdominal surgery after having a c-section

OneMorePlant · 20/02/2024 23:27

There is no sane man who loves his newborn who would do this. This is about something that destroys all reason and that something is paraphilia and/or personality disorders.

this was me…and i had a root canal with no anesthetic cos i was pregnant

(i wasn’t given a hard time cos i just took what i was given and didn’t question it)

Right so when you said :

"I also know a woman who couldn't lactate at all, and had to take probably the same mass quantity of estrogen and progesterone a trans man would have to have. Was she poisoning her baby? No, I doubt so. I prefer research to Mumsnet."

What you meant was a woman who identifies as a man would have to take the same quantity of female hormones as a woman who doesn't identify as a man?

What with them both being women, I should imagine that's unsurprising. Unless of course the transman was taking testosterone too.

Wtf are you and your cronies on about??? I am not equipped to handle this level of paranoia and stupidity. I didn't feel the need to cater to this idiocy earlier, but: a woman born with a vagina who identifies as a woman, who can't lactate at all due to a condition. No matter what you and your cronies say, I think she would maintain she is a woman! And again if she's trans that makes you trans as well by the same random logic.

You're missing the point. You said 'had to take probably the same mass quantity of estrogen and progesterone a trans man would have to have'. A transman is a woman who wants to be a man, they don't take estrogen and progesterone they take testosterone.

Your posts are quite unnecessarily aggressive.

ZuttZeVootEeeVo · 21/02/2024 09:26

Its the problem with the language, its purposefully confusing.

If it were true that men could breast feed safely and actually provide adequate nutrition, wouldnt it be a bigger story? It could change parenting new borns.

whatsitcalledwhen · 21/02/2024 09:50

@canyouread

You're being very combative when someone was basically pointing out that you used the description 'trans man' when they think you mean 'trans woman'.

A trans man is a natal woman who wishes to identify as a man.

A trans woman is a natal man who wishes to identify as a woman.

So a trans man wouldn't take a mass quantity of oestrogen, because they are a natal woman.

Language is really important and this is an example of how it's dangerous that TRAs have eroded the meaning of language to the point that in discussions like this, meanings aren't clear and wires get crossed.

It wasn't an attempt to be personal I don't think 🤷🏻‍♀️
