"A FEMINIST campaigner is to open the UK’s first lesbian members bar that will only allow biological women to join.

The bar, named the L Community, is due to open in London later this year and will operate as a private members club so that it can bar trans women.

My daughter is a butch lesbian. She has never once been challenged in a women’s toilet and she looks much more butch than the very obviously feminine woman in the picture in your link.

This thread has taken a grim turn. But it mirrors what's happening to young lesbians today. Back in the day I went to numerous lesbian only events - clubs, bars, cafe, rooms upstairs in pubs - and we were universally left alone. Nobody stood outside demonstrating or complaining about us meeting without men. We were quietly welcomed and left to socialise, meet, whatever.

But now misogynistic men have such arrogance that they seek out places where women and lesbians meet / talk in order to gaslight, harass and belittle lesbians. They lurk unwanted and uninvited & try to undermine the rights of lesbians to be same sex attracted, openly promoting a rape culture where young lesbians are threatened if they fail to accept sex with men.

Their threats never stop - whether they're spouting Stonewall law, imposing their view of women's sexuality or just being downright creepy.
My heart breaks for young women trying to navigate this cesspit .
I wish Jenny every success for this and hope that these men will leave her and other lesbians alone.

The thing is that when people choose what bar,restaurant,club,etc... they go to they include quite a few factors into that decision. One decision that has been literally denied to lesbians since the gender woowoo started is the choice of a female only lesbian space. Jenny's club will be the only place offering that. Some lesbians may find a female only lesbian space very attractive. Imagine no latex encased erections in a lesbian bar, how cool would that be?
Some people may choose to fund the place out of principal e.g. JKR chucking £70K into the Supreme Court crowdfunder. That's not a decision of commerical interests but of moral principal.

I'm sure the lesbians with penises will find Jenny's club the most extra attractive space of all the spaces, but and because they can't go there.
I think some people are far more worried that Jenny will succeed than they pretend to be concerned it's not comercially viable.
Make your own spaces! You can even exclude the lesbians without penises, I'm sure they will be utterly devastated.

Failure in such a politically charged context - where a lot of angry activists will campaign to ruin a business - is not indicative that lesbians don’t want spaces for lesbians without male people claiming them for themselves.

Lesbian spaces have always struggled to be fair; we tend to use them to couple up, then we stay at home and only venture out again when single 😂. Cliche, but there is some truth in it.

Gay men tend to have a more consistent presence out on the scene regardless of relationship status.
