I can’t see how she’s splitting the left wing vote when she’s endorsed by the likes of Tommy Robinson.

Has he actually said that, it did he just turn up to one of her LWS events with his cronies?

Googling just brings up a load of TRA press.

This is a non sequitur.
If people who usually vote Labour/Green vote for her, she's splitting the left wing vote.

Isn't that what Blossomtoes is saying? That people who usually vote labour would not vote for someone who is endorsed by Tommy Robinson. I have no idea if she is by the way.

EasternStandard · 16/02/2024 11:06

I’m not sure votes are the desired outcome over forced spotlight on the issue and headlines

Which she’ll get, she already does

No idea about TR not someone I look to at all. That kind of narrative has been used before.

She gets people attacking probably down to the fact she gets more on this exposure on the topic than many

Other women do well and receive similar - JKR etc

Underthinker · 16/02/2024 11:08

@Goldwork I think people who usually vote Labour don't (or shouldn't) care what Tommy Robinson does. Otherwise all the Tories need to do is pay Robinson a couple of grand to publicly endorse Labour, and the Tories will steal the next election from being 20 points behind in the polls.

AlisonDonut · 16/02/2024 11:11

So lets get this straight. The UK political two party options are both shit and people are told if they want change to be the change, apart from Posie who will be responsible for splitting the left wing vote even though she is a right wing nazi?

that would be an interesting move

Lazy tralala smears that don't stand up... still bump the thread.

Very interested to see what she does with her new adventure

She has told him that she doesn't want his support, or anything to do with him. She can't help it if he tries to latch on, to keep his grifts going, can she?

Yeah but y'know,Nazis and shit.

Oh how I wish there was a laugh button on here!

0/10 for effort.

She's not right wing.

Women's rights are not a right wing position.

That sounds about right.

The TRA are not known for their logic and critical thinking. It would be hilarious if it weren't so tragic.

Its like Putin supporting Biden supposedly.

That was exactly what I meant. Apologies for not spelling it out. The age and higher education demographic in Holborn points to a resounding Labour win.

windowframer · 16/02/2024 18:17

Andrew Feinstein has been selected by OCISA, a group of disgruntled Corbynites who have been pushed out the left side of the Labour party. They're pretty intense about it all and will be raising funds and manpower from across the country for that one seat, and their policy platform will be a lot broader than Posie's so I expect they'll have a higher profile than her. However I agree with pp that it would take a miracle for Labour to lose the seat, particularly to a new small party of any persuasion.

And the games commence!

https://twitter.com/ThePosieParker/status/1758576964401557860?s=19

This event is cancelled because the executive of Hornsey and Friern Barnet constituency @UKLabour told the venue that my attendance would create a dangerous and hostile environment for residents.

Posie has launched her new party!

But the event ( in the eventbrite link) was organised by a conservative group? (Tottenham conservative group?) Why would the venue cancel a conservative group event at the behest of Labour? Or have I misread the link?

I assume the Cons have booked a venue, then the Labs have told the venue that one of the speakers is an actual nazi and they'll get firebombed if they host.

Or something like that.

IwantToRetire · 17/02/2024 00:26

Well that's a classic isn't. An unsubstantiated statement claiming a lone woman would make "residents" feel unsafe and its taken a face value.

Of course its false, but just to provide a "plausible" reason for Starmer to pull out.

Sneeky, hypocritical, coward.

Not so much flibbly floppy, but just a blob of half set jelly.

And this is the man who is going to be our next PM.

IwantToRetire · 17/02/2024 00:30

Sorry, I didn't read the tweet. And found the image hard to read.

So Labour hadn't even confirmed they would be attending, but managed to get someone else's meeting cancelled.

So much for freedom of association.

They have no shame.

It wasn't even set to happen in a community hall on an estate. It was book for a room in a pub.

PerkingFaintly · 12/02/2024 10:03

Johnson gutting the party to ensure loyalty has been terrible, absolutely terrible, for UK politics. I never thought I'd miss those old Tory grandees, but they brought a degree of stability and so very much experience to the House.

I’ve said the same to DH. I never thought the day would come when I’d miss Ken Clarke, but I do. 🤷‍♀️

BlackForestCake · 17/02/2024 10:18

Nothing to do with Starmer.

But we are in a dark place if a meeting organised by a legal political party can be cancelled on the say-so of a branch officer of a different party.

I say this as someone who despises both Labour and Tories.

Emotionalsupportviper · 17/02/2024 10:20

Agreed @BlackForestCake

If necessary the venue should be policed on the day - it shouldn't be cancelled.

AlisonDonut · 17/02/2024 10:22

When they say language isn't important, just watch the lengths they are going to go to, to get an actual women stopped from saying words.

EasternStandard · 17/02/2024 10:23

I don’t get these cancellations

We’re heading into NZ territory

Well maybe old NZ territory since they’ve changed gov
