Why is Mumsnet so GC?

Maybe an odd question but I've never come across another space, online or otherwise, where being GC is the norm. IRL I only ever discuss GC views openly with one family member, whose stance on it is similar to my own, though, so I'm not saying it's unwelcome.... Just curious how/why it's come about. Any thoughts or theories?

Older and dinosaurs. Got it...

That's me in the orange and purple!

I always did have a good eye for colour.

the AI program at least got the label “rat” right

Talk about "damned by faint praise". 😂

I’m willing to bet that the vast majority of the population are GC but are too frightened to be honest about it in real life for fear of being cancelled and losing their job and Mumsnet is seen as one of the only safe spaces where they can share their views.

Omg, the expression on that poor rat's face!

@Emotionalsupportviper

"A group of vipers knitting and drinking tea"

I’m on a GC textiles facebook group where someone posted similar AI pics of people knitting. Lots of comments about how hilarious (and heartening) it is that computers evidently haven’t the tiniest clue about what knitting actually Is. The more I look at what they’re doing with their hands the funnier it is, and I don’t even knit! (Apologies for the derail of a derail)

When you look at them closely they make no sense. There's odd legs all over the place, bits of dinosaurs going through tables, all sorts of things wrong. I wouldn't be using them for professional jobs that's for sure, but they'll get there one day! I found it funny that when it turned the vipers into an art deco shot and have them feet and high heels

Ah, the trans, gender stereotypical view of a viper. Happily ignoring the fact that vipers are actually poisonous snakes and the essential characteristic of a snake is that it doesn't have limbs.

Evolution in action @JanesLittleGirl - happening before our very eyes. 😁

The outward assumption of something driven by 'mums' is by society's definition something of little consequence. Patriarchy relies on dividing women - hence the enduring belief by young women that older women are 'out of touch' etc. The sad truth is that any woman with children has in many ways given up her autonomy, her time, her financial freedom - thus making her opinions harmless. At the extreme end, if any 'mums' were to attempt any action which could execute social change they have a ready made foil - their children.
