I just want to thank all these women for speaking out for women despite the obstacles put in their place. It's getting easier for the rest of us now.

I don't think the gay community is happy with her. A Dublin gay bar has a "f**k you JK Rowing" sign up.

Why don't they like her rowing? 🚣 weird.

TheaBrandt · 27/01/2024 20:44

Rosie Duffield
Sharron Davies

TheaBrandt · 27/01/2024 20:46

Kelly Jay Keen

Was about to add Sharron Davies but someone just beat me. Also Daley Thomson and Riley Gaines.

Forester1 · 27/01/2024 20:57

And Hadley Freeman, Janice Turner, Sonia Sodha

Forester1 · 27/01/2024 20:58

And the sports writer in The Telegraph - can’t remember his name.

Triggernometry are playing an important part in this and other freedom of speech and right issues, and the male podcasters taking an interest deserve recognition, Andrew Gold, Winston Marshall, Arty Morty, Graham (mentioned above) Helen Staniland, Brendan O'Neill, Dennis Kavanagh, James Dreyfus.

Not derailing with men on a much deserved list about women standing up: but as some men voicing their anger/disbelief at all the nonsense, I think Andrew Doyle and "Jonathan Pie"( Tom Walker) deserve a brief mention too👍

Zebracat · 27/01/2024 21:41

Jenni Murray, Emma Barnett, Suzanne Moore. The legal feminist.

Zebracat · 27/01/2024 21:43

I think we should make a weekend of it and get a yurt, only 6 of us so we will all fit. And we’ve not the money for anything more having funded all these successful legal cases.

Whispers...

I snore, sleeptalk, sleepwalk and have night terrors...

It's going to be such fun.

What's that? i get a yurt to myself. Excellent!

Stephanie Davies-Arai.

ChewtonRoad · 27/01/2024 22:01

I'll add my thanks to all mentioned here along with IAmSarah and all the thoughtful vipers on this forum; thank you for all you say and do.

As to a TERF bar, it's bloody genius 💯

Sean Ingle.

He's been great.

It's because of the cox

AuContraire · 27/01/2024 22:18

I'm very grateful for the women on here 5-8 years ago — most of whom HQ booted off MN because men told them to —who kept reminding us that NO men were women, not even the nice ones, and held that firm line, explaining it again and again, making thousands (tens of, hundreds of thousands?) of women able to think and talk it through too.

Barracker, LangCleg, AngryAttackKittens, Ro, Datun, Dittany, to name but a few.

(Just remembered that MNHQ banned women from asking politicians on the webchats about women's rights, deleting posts before our very eyes and banning the women. And we wonder why politicians claim "nobody ever asks me about this, its a non issue").

LarkLane · 27/01/2024 22:23

I'd like to mention Lucy Masoud. I knew her as a younger woman and I'm so proud of her. She has grown in strength to become an exceptional woman.

TownGown · 27/01/2024 11:35

I saw someone on Twitter saying they were starting a "TERF bar" where only women were allowed in and one of the security was a convicted murderer who would ask questions about periods "only real women could answer" or something. It sounded very bizarre.

Well, if someone on twitter says that then...

peachescariad · 27/01/2024 22:29

Thank you to all the women mentioned above and to all those whose names we do not yet know, but who'll continue to stand for women, support women, speak for women, fight for women.

Zebracat · 27/01/2024 22:35

@Boiledbeetle . Yes me too, you’re fine, we can share

stealtheatingtunnocks · 27/01/2024 22:43

@Boiledbeetle does a great job of galvanising us all. And @mumsnetjustine lets her. Both deserve a pint of Prosecco
