I just want to thank all these women for speaking out for women despite the obstacles put in their place. It's getting easier for the rest of us now.

Please can you tell me the reason Rachel Reeves is in your list?

Because I copied it from earlier collections of Women Who Had Taken Action. I see also I typo'd Rachel Meade.

Rosie Duffield, the Julie Bs. Germane Greer.

There are TERF bars??

Where - and count me in

JK Rowling keeps getting silenced despite having 14M followers and everything she says about the topic is relayed by the daily mail?

I think "silenced" needs to be clarified. One isn't silenced just because a lot of people disagree.

So, there's no chance of me going "Shush now TownGown" and you being silenced?

A pissed off middle aged woman with a headache can dream I suppose!

Crankywiddershins · 27/01/2024 12:55

Elaine Miller. And her Merkin!

People have speaking engagements withdrawn. Graham Linehan. Kathleen Stock. And let's not forget the ones who lose their jobs or freelance work. Rosie Kay who was kicked out of her own dance company.

As for TERF bars, I thought those were Tunnocks caramel wafers.

Which reminds me that I have two packets in the cupboard.

Doyle Clayton -the employee owned firm where the excellent lawyers are based. I couldnt name their support staff but I'm sure they contribute to this too.

Hicc · 27/01/2024 13:29

Rachel Rooney rather than Rachel Reeves?

JK Rowling is silenced despite my Facebook having daily articles saying "fans are not happy JK Rowling is executive producer in the forthcoming HP series" and three thousand comments saying "I'm over the moon about it!" And variations of that.

EasternStandard · 27/01/2024 14:25

Yes and Maya Forstater, Kemi Badenoch and Baroness Falkner

MostUnreasonable · 27/01/2024 14:48

And thank you to the countless women here on mumsnet and everywhere in the world who quietly terf their family and friends, fill out consultations, speak to their mps, donate to fundraisers, etc.

JoodyBlue · 27/01/2024 14:57

There are so many courageous women (and a few men) that we are almost bound to leave someone out so keep adding. I came on to post Maya who is after all the reason we are confident in our legal right to speak at all.

All of the above mentioned, of course. Adding in The Famous Artist Birdy Rose, Rosie Kay , Jess De Wahls, Baronness Emma Nicolson, Fond of Beetles Emma, Germaine Greer. There are many many more.

JoodyBlue · 27/01/2024 15:01

Triggernometry are playing an important part in this and other freedom of speech and right issues, and the male podcasters taking an interest deserve recognition, Andrew Gold, Winston Marshall, Arty Morty, Graham (mentioned above) Helen Staniland, Brendan O'Neill, Dennis Kavanagh, James Dreyfus.

ArabellaScott · 27/01/2024 15:11

I'm going to thank the teenagers, who are sharp, honest, thoughtful and very definitely gc.

They give me hope when I feel so bloody exhausted I'm ready to give up.

JoodyBlue · 27/01/2024 15:15

@ArabellaScott I so agree with this. So hard for them to stand up for truth in this culture. If I think about backing down or backing out I think of all the youngsters who want to be able to say what is in front of their eyes and can't . Gaslighting and the environment that we are creating for the young with consequences like a 4 year boy being accepted into school as a girl. It makes me weep, when I remember my own at the age going to school. How innocent they are. How this culture is misinforming such innocence.

WaterHound · 27/01/2024 15:34

Also Andrew Doyle (not a woman I know) is doing sterling work on GB News Free Speech Nation and elsewhere. Virtually every week he platforms exceptional women fighting this bullshit. 💪

LarkLane · 27/01/2024 16:06

Mr. Menno deserves a mention. What a supporter!

I read that as a TERF bra! Which is completely different but actually would be rather wonderful at the same time!!
