Seeing the Jo Phoenix thread has prompted me to ask: what's coming up in 2024?

The ones I can think of off the top of my head are:

  • Result of Jo Phoenix's tribunal
  • Outcome of Charity Commission investigation into Mermaids
  • Outcome of Shahrar Ali case against the Green Party
  • The final Cass review (hopefully)
  • James Esses's case against the Metanoia Institute

I've a feeling there are more - can anyone remember? What about the Rachel Meade case? I think she won part of it but I don't know if there is still another part left to go.

There's @IamSarah case, finally, this year.

ArabellaScott · 03/01/2024 21:45

Two more Green Party cases - Dawn Furness and Emma Bateman.

Boiledbeetle · 03/01/2024 21:51

abroad there is Sall Grover's Tickle v Giggle which is April I think.

vivariumvivariumsvivaria · 03/01/2024 23:03

FWS haven't said if they'll appeal the last Haldane judgement.

vivariumvivariumsvivaria · 03/01/2024 23:04

Was Louise Distras arrested? Is there a case from that?

IcakethereforeIam · 03/01/2024 23:08

The Cass Report?

The female pool player, I'm sorry I've forgotten her name.

The consultation period for school gender guidance.

Lynne Pinches, who liked a post of mine on Twatter.

I thought that this was going to be an actual, physical calendar, for fund raising.

ZoomerDinosaur · 04/01/2024 04:29

I thought that this was going to be an actual, physical calendar, for fund raising.

So did I and I was having fantastic fun imagining what kinds of pictures we could put for each month!

I suppose the actual topic of the thread is more important, but imagine the possibilities...

SinnerBoy · 04/01/2024 04:52

Well, it could be done, with a picture of the woman involved and a description of her lawsuit. You could also have insets, with a woman who'd won in that month in a previous year.

RoyalCorgi · 04/01/2024 08:55

People are very welcome to create a physical calendar if they can be bothered to put the effort into it!

I just thought it would be nice to have a list of key dates, though obviously wtih some of them, such as the Cass Review, we don't know what the date is going to be, just that it's likely to be this year.

Thanks for the ones I'd forgotten, like the judgement in the Amy Hamm case and the Sarah Surviving case, which will be heard in June 2024 and I think is going to be really significant.

The Scottish actor vs Glinner should be coming up soon.

I wouldn't have a clue how to!

shambolese · 04/01/2024 09:51

Didn't KJK / Posie Parker release a calendar?

WickedSerious · 04/01/2024 10:41

Didn't KJK / Posie Parker release a calendar?

Yes,I bought one for my recently peaked friend.

vivariumvivariumsvivaria · 04/01/2024 12:56

I've got a vague idea there's a case of a woman who's taking an education authority to court becuase they wouldn't let her see the sex ed content her kids were being subjected to? In England, I think?

vivariumvivariumsvivaria · 04/01/2024 13:23

What about the awful NHS cases? The woman who was raped on a ward and told she wasn't and had to get Baroness Nicholson's help? And the woman who was refused cancer surgery in London because she only wanted female only care?

I'n sorry I can't recall/find names - my memory is fogged by all the fury.

MsGoodenough · 04/01/2024 16:32

Priority for the start of 2024 is definitely responding to the consultation on the new schools guidance. There will be massive pushback against it so everyone who supports it, or feels it doesn't go far enough to protect children, needs to respond.

YetAnotherSpartacus · 08/01/2024 10:34

Is there an update on Rachel Meade?

I thought the decision was going to be made in December.

SinnerBoy · 08/01/2024 12:18

ArabellaScott · 04/01/2024 13:16

Yes. She lost, but I seem to recall she will be appealling, though I couldn't find ref to an appeal.

I think it's a disgrace that we are not allowed to see the materials in these cases. I'm also rather outraged at PPI contracts and secrecy in general, whether it be for running hospitals, building bridges etc, on the grounds of commercial confidentiality.

Sorry, but you're being paid by the public and we ought to have a right to see what you're spending the bloody money on and what value it is to us.

If any!

'Hi
Sorry for the delay in providing any updates.
Just to let you know that we have heard from the judge and they hope to be in a position that the judgment is finalised and ready to be announced in early/mid-December.
Fingers crossed it will be good tidings.
Huge thanks again for all your continued support it makes such a world of difference.
Rachel '

C&P from the crowdfunding site, in November, not heard anything since then.
