So as the title says a biological male footballer who was allowed by the fa to play on a woman's team with the inevitable consequences for a female player has thrown his tous out of the pram because the women's teams refuse to play against him and is threatening to sue the other clubs so he can play against 16 and 17 year old girls and women

It's not about being included or being able to compete its about validation and the power trip/sexual gratification they get by forcing women to be pawns in their fantasy

Add in cheating too, because they are, they know they are.

They do have a lot of mixed 5 a side leagues near me and I've grown up playing football with boys but I'll never compete in a mixed serious competition because I don't fancy being tackled or shot at by a man. So I guess that answers the question as to my feelings on it now. Until the FA make changes there is nothing anyone can really do right now (without risking fines etc).

Iused to play in annual mixed friendly tournament for local groups. had to have at least one woman on each team etc.

I played 2 tournaments, and got hurt 5 times - all by the men - all who were taking it all too seriously - bear in mind all you win is 'bragging rights' - as it was a FRIENDLY tournament intended to be a social.

1 man booted the ball so hard at goal it nearly broke my fingers.
1 man shoved me to the ground - hard (and onto hard ground!) and said "Oh sorry, didn't realise you weren't a bloke" - my head bumped off the gorund and was sore.
1 man hacked, and scraped his boot all down my shin (I was luckily wearing shin pads)
1 man yanked at by bib and caused me to fall backwards and hurt my shoulder
1 man decided he would just trip me up when I wasn't even on the ball - and I fell/tumbled onto the ground, hurting my hips.

in additional I got shouted at by men to "FUCKING MOVE OUT OF THE WAY" etc

Women started refusing to play and now it doesn't happen - because men are dickheads.

Prepare yourself for this one....what a shocker.

Seems this fella also markets himself as a 'schoolgirl prostitute'. Just the sort you want hanging out with your 16 year old in a changing room.

Sorry, just seen the MN sleuths already on the case of this particular pervert

Meanwhile, awareness of this swimmer will also start rippling through now that the Daily Mail has published it. I read Riley's tweets about it yesterday but I think this swimmer will be just as influential as Thomas was.

All because the NCAA refused to follow FINA's lead and still allow male athletes to compete as female athletes.

You've beaten me to it. Surely the furore over Thomas should have led to him being excluded?

My feelings haven't changed since then. I'm not anti trans and am all for people being what they want to be but only as long as no one is hurt and women aren't screwed over

It is not anti-trans to want safety, fairness, dignity and respect for women ffs and I am sick of people trying to portray that it somehow is and caveating everything with that phrase. It is not even anti-men it is pro-women and expecting them to receive the same basic considerations as men.

News flash - women are being screwed over and worse.

I agree?

chutneysauce · 22/11/2023 16:59

@00100001 I agree with your post.

Vegemiteandhoneyontoast · 22/11/2023 17:28

The only football I've ever played was a Sunday morning kick about in the park with my then bf and his mates. One of them kicked the ball really hard and it hit me in the side of my head and left me staggering. It wasn't a hard ball but I actually felt it fold around my head and face and, over 40 years later, I can still remember what that felt like. I never joined in again.

Although that may well be seen as a positive by MRA’s - women not allowed to take part in sports etc

Brefugee · 22/11/2023 17:35

chutneysauce · 22/11/2023 13:22

@HagoftheNorth the thing is, me teammates very clearly DID voice their opinions at the start but there was nothing they or the club could do since it was within the rules. Eventually as the said, the team grew quite fond of this player and it wasn't a problem to them anymore after a while however I'm sure new players didn't feel comfortable.

My feelings haven't changed since then. I'm not anti trans and am all for people being what they want to be but only as long as no one is hurt and women aren't screwed over. When it comes to certain sports I am very against it because it's just not a fair competition. I understand the frustrating for trans people not being accepted if they played for men's teams etc but surely we've got to the stage now where actual trans leagues should be created (in most sports).

But you said so e women changed elsewhere. It's a team sport. He should have changed elsewhere,as the outlier and for the good of his teammates.
You were all being "kind" and enabling a tosser.

chutneysauce · 22/11/2023 17:54

@Brefugee maybe so. Don't mind being kind. When we weren't listened to we didn't have much of a choice.

Froodwithatowel · 22/11/2023 18:10

Excellent article, thank you.

I'm particularly pleased to see the blunt taking the piss out of 'its complicated' is well launched: once it reaches that stage, its power is gone. And the writer is correct: it isn't complicated at all. In this sense all 'complicated' means is 'it's hard to stand up to a noisy lobby who'll kick off, and possibly look like the bad guy. Even if this means women lose their sport and get badly hurt.'.

It's a horrifically sexist excuse that shows how easy it was to destroy women's equality in the first place.

Vegemiteandhoneyontoast · 22/11/2023 18:38

@UtopiaPlanitia that is unexpected from a paper like the Guardian, but bloody well said, that man!

It's the telegraph.
Though there is a guardian sports writer (Sean something?) who has often been sensible in the past.

ErrolTheDragon · 22/11/2023 18:51

Something that occurred to me, prompted by an observation upthread re the women's game 'it has always been very accepting of gay and gender non-confirming women' .... am I right in thinking that the men's game hasn't really got too much further beyond a few rainbow laces in rooting out homophobia in the men's game?

So perhaps throwing women under the bus probably suited them fine as a way of placating the stonewall / 'inclusion' lobby without upsetting the dinosaur blokes. If you've got a lot of homophobic misogynists on board it must have made perfect sense.Hmm

Good article that isn’t messing around in describing the issues:

English football must stop dithering over transgender players and take action

Excellent article.

HagoftheNorth · 22/11/2023 19:05

Great article, the only part I take issue with is that there cannot be fairness and inclusion.

There absolutely can. Inclusion means that male players should be welcome in male teams regardless of how they choose to dress/present themselves, or their preferences & characteristics. This is a male problem, it’s not up to women to solve it. Transmen (not taking testosterone) should, of course, be welcome in women’s teams.

Your theory could very well have something to it - perhaps because of the women’s league being so much more 'diverse' than the men’s it made the FA see it as a place that would be accepting of TIPs but mostly I think the women’s league was seen as a dumping ground for weird men who made other men feel uncomfortable. Bit like the way it played out in the rest of society tbh 🤷‍♀️

Froodwithatowel · 22/11/2023 19:12

Ain't that the truth.

MrsJamin · 22/11/2023 19:20

Men's football is DECADES behind the rest of society: how many openly gay male football players are there? If you can't say that you're gay in a football club, what hope is there for men to embrace gender non-conforming men? Men need to bloody step up and accept diversity and not just palm off anyone different as "femme/women"! This is not women's responsibility to budge up and be kind.
