How is it a swap? I can understand a transman getting a second hand penis, but they don't have their vagina removed, do they? Is he suggesting the transman gives up her womb and ovaries? What flesh will the surgeon use for the neovagina if he has already stiched the penis on to the woman on the next table? All sorts of issues here. I hope no-one is desperate enough to offer themselves up as a patient test case to this butcher surgeon.

Surgeons who make these announcements are just getting themselves some publicity so they can sell more surgical procedures. They know damned fine it's never going to happen - but they've got more and more competition for the transmoney, so they've got to draw attention to themselves. It's the equivalent of calling yourselves AAAAPlumbers, to be the first entry in the Yellow Pages (not that that exists any more ...).

Good heavens, where to start. 'Top Sex Change Doctor' - sounds plausible, not. Setting all logic and actual scientific and medical knowledge aside, I can see how someone might think they can pin a Penis on a patient, but how do you pin a Vagina on someone.
It is laughable, but, a bit like human cloning, if it's been mentioned out loud then you can bet that someone somewhere (in countries where it's either unregulated or they just don't give a shit) is practising on animals and has some funding lined up do attempt this in future.

Most likely scenario is both parties end up with no genitals and peeing into a bag for the rest of their life when the rejection starts and they have to be removed.

What a bonkers world when highly trained surgeons spend their time doing stuff like this, as if it wasn't bad enough giving people giant fake boobs, arses, hoiking faces up etc. There are people dying as they can't get lifesaving surgery.

It is bonkers, but there seems to be quite a few in the world of "aesthetic" surgery.

The ones that do terrible cutting edge facial surgeries on the mega rich which always look apalling on the early adopters, but give the surgeon practise to eventually get it right.

Obviously there's a similar impulse in those doing experimental surgery for other conditions such as burns, maxfax, ortho etc but those are last ditch attempts to improve life, not preying on the mentally unwell.

I guess people like him don't make the distinction, and neither do his patients, but hopefully someone will draw a line, if only the lawyers.
