Gettingbysomehow

This is a quote from Scott Newgent about the results of Scott's phalloplasty, using tissue from Scott's arm, so without the complications of using tissue from another human being. Scott has openly commented that this has impacted Scott's probable life-expectancy.

During my own transition, I had seven surgeries. I also had a massive pulmonary embolism, a helicopter life-flight ride, an emergency ambulance ride, a stress-induced heart attack, sepsis, a 17-month recurring infection due to using the wrong skin during a (failed) phalloplasty, 16 rounds of antibiotics, three weeks of daily IV antibiotics, the loss of all my hair, (only partially successful) arm reconstructive surgery, permanent lung and heart damage, a cut bladder, insomnia-induced hallucinations—oh and frequent loss of consciousness due to pain from the hair on the inside of my urethra. All this led to a form of PTSD that made me a prisoner in my apartment for a year. Between me and my insurance company, medical expenses exceeded $900,000.

Trans man is Twitter-banned after speaking against gender transition of children

The gender mystics are winning social media battles, but the war will be won by the heroes who refuse to yield to their tyranny, who refuse to be silenced, and who find other pathways to make their case.

@Trulywonderful oh that’s funny, it was my first thought when I read the article. I’ve seen too many gruesome post surgical photos from limb and other body part transplants ( I’m an HCP who can pretty much cope with anything apart from burns).
I use to have a patient who had his lower jaw shot off during WW2. He’d had amazing plastic surgery using a rib and a skin pedicle transplant using his underarm skin.
Every few months I had to remove the underarm hairs from inside his mouth.

We had one of the guinea pig club come to speak at our school many many years ago.
Those surgeons were doing pioneering work to rebuild lives rather like the surgeons trying to help acid attack victims from the changing faces charity.
Whatever happened to 'first do no harm' ?

DeanElderberry · 16/11/2023 07:27

Never forget that the surgeon who pioneered 'sex change' surgery went on to work for the Nazis in Dachau and for the Soviets in Berlin.

Wouldn’t these surgeries require anti rejection drugs for life? Why would any sane person consider such a procedure?

Some people say they 'need' when they mean they 'want'. Unpacking why they want these things is an important exercise.

WoollyBat · 16/11/2023 08:57

I also was immediately reminded of Mr Bean! It’s not just how he looks, it’s the expression! If I was that surgeon I’d prefer a different photo and not one that makes me look weirdly smug and “ooh what fun” about surgeries that are known to have awful complications and outcomes. I hate the way this is always presented as “amazing new sci-fi body swap/transplant options” instead of being realistic about the extremely high rates of it not working well.

WoollyBat · 16/11/2023 09:00

Re skin colour, in the photos of phalloplasty I’ve seen, one of the things that makes them look very unreal is the colour, because arm skin is not like penis skin. It’s usually much paler. So that ship has sailed anyway I think.

Over-optimism relating to latest developments about using donor stem cells which has raised the prospect of immunosuppression-free transplantation?

Our kidney transplant tolerance program offers a groundbreaking approach to kidney transplantation. We use donor stem cells and radiation therapy to help your immune system accept a transplanted kidney. This approach, called immune tolerance or immunosuppression-free protocol, allows your body to accept the donor organ as its own.
We deliver a stem cell infusion immediately following a kidney transplant (simultaneous immune tolerance) or months to years after a transplant (retroactive immune tolerance). Retroactive immune tolerance is a promising new approach available only at UCLA Health.

I'm going to file this in the bin alongside the 'we are so close to being able to transplant wombs into men so that they can give birth' articles.

I wonder how many start down this road based on false promises.
I’ve also seen M2F declaring that they will have a baby in a few years no problem.
I hope they all sue the shit out of these ‘doctors’.

Mintesso · 16/11/2023 18:32

Who goes into medicine and thinks hey instead of trying to cure cancer or saving premature babies what I really wanna do is remove a penis and a vagina and swap them around? Honestly if that’s ‘the goal of your life’ maybe consider a career change.

What a fruitcake.

What’s most sad is that you know if this goes ahead it will end up being the vaginas of autistic teenage lesbians that get removed and given to adult men with kink issues.

Yes there was a man in VICTORIAN times who transitioned and thought this too.

I've seen FTM transitions who've had mastectomies asking if they can grow their breasts back by coming off T and starting to take supplementary estrogen. The amount of medical illiteracy out there is terrifying

So true and depressing. And the young lesbians will get their porn-worn old penises. And both of them will get a lifetime of genito-urinary malfunction and pain and more generalised ill health from the medications.

This indicates the consent process was non-existent for these patients. Either that or they were too young to understand what they were told.

Or they've been coached to give the answers that will get them what they think they want. They don't actually listen to and comprehend all the words being said, they just listen for the memorised cues for the memorised answers.

NeighbourhoodWatchPotholeDivision · 17/11/2023 10:33

The level of science comprehension amongst trans activists is very poor, especially when it's anything relating to women. We had one the other night claim that people would soon be able to access "synthetic eggs" for human IVF

I wonder if she'd ever have speculated that "synthetic sperm" would be available. I think not. It's just women's bodily processes that are seen as easily simulated by technology and engineering.

I look forward to the first half-human, half-android child.

LeggyLegsEleven · 17/11/2023 10:46

They literally think humans are Lego with interconnecting parts. Just remove your male biology and replace it with women’s biology, simple.
I’m angry how they’ve all been lied to but also disappointed at the number of them who can’t do any basic reading, especially parents. If I see someone else say that puberty blockers are harmless and totally reversible I’ll scream.
