Having never come across a doctor only space I could find comment. However I'm fairly sure I wouldn't notice or care

Have you ever come across in a situation that you assumed would be doctor only? I think it would be fair to say that most people actually would notice and care if they were having surgery performed by a person who wasn't actually a doctor, but said they felt like one.

The non-binary bullshit at the end of the Dr Who episode was also awful.

Christ only knows, given the stupid woman apparently wanked off a soldier in a tree 🤔

I'm a "Dr" I never use that as I think it's massively pretentious, but lots of my peers do, are they wrong to use that?

It's called being polite. In company, you should always try to make the people you are with comfortable. Who cares what they like to be referred as. Just be nice and civilised

Clearly a PhD, probably in a niche field going by your ill thought out post, and not an actual doctor 🤣😆

Well. Is very much enjoying the shock and attention garnered by claiming this, yes.

This entire belief system provides a really lovely vehicle for people to get their issues and behavioural challenges out and give them a good ride around.

What a bizarre post.

PhD holders are ‘actual doctors’, they are actually the only true doctors (which is a term relating to teaching & scholarship and linked to doctorate level study). Medical doctors adopted the term about 500 years after academic scholars.

SirChenjins · 26/11/2023 21:45

Yes that’s true, but the tide has turned now that PhDs are far more accessible.

DeadBugMountainClimber · 27/11/2023 11:50

“The tide has turned now”.

What tide? I was merely pointing out that the ‘doctor’ title actually belonged to PhD holders long before it was associated with medics.

It wasn’t a comment about the integrity of PhD’s or Maddy70’s opinions on politeness around pronouns.
