I like the fact she is direct and straight to the point. She speaks without equivocation and I find her very charismatic.

SinnerBoy · 05/11/2023 13:16

Yes, I like the way she gets to the point and sticks to it, much to the chagrin of increasingly frustrated interviewers.

AlphaTransWoman · 05/11/2023 03:31

Her vs me.

Any debating rules acceptable if equally applied. Any questions accepted. Free speech within the rule of law.

Shall we do this?

Dunning Krueger Syndrome is terrifyingly powerful, isn't it?

ZuttZeVootEeeVo · 05/11/2023 13:50

After years of no debate, its weird when tra think its in their interests to debate. Its as if they think in the time they spent shouting at women, they've stopped women learning about trans ideology.

We know all about it, theres nothing anyone can tell us that we dont know already, theres no magic words that can persuade us that a man becomes woman, or that men stop being men.

Even if it were the case, and some smooth talking man could persuade enough people to 'win' a debate, so what? It wouldnt stop the reality of needing SSE.

Lots of people claim to believe TWAW but none of their arguments are strong enough to justify why a trans rapists should be in a womans prison, or how come amy george is definitely a woman until hes not any more.

Its no point trying to debate, because its not words that is going to win this, its safeguarding. And men pretending to be women is not compatible with safeguarding.

Yes, a debate is only ever going to be farcical.

We will have Helen Joyce or another woman stating that humans are a dimorphically sexed mammalian species, on one side, or citing statistics on male violence, etc.

On the other, we will have very marginalised people talking about their sadness at not being allowed to wear dresses. Or, as we saw with Freda, talking about their penis and fetish clubs. Possibly, I suppose, we may hear some vague assertions about kindness and/or a gendered soul or a 'wrong body'.

What they can do is help reveal the paucity of arguments. And sometimes some of the other motivations behind males who pretend they are women. So they are definitely useful, but perhaps not in the way that debates are usually intended to be useful.

FreddysSquishyBollock · 05/11/2023 14:21

I’m reminded of this Momentum as featuring Juno Dawson wanting to skip the TV debates to avoid making people cringe in future.

I mean, it is very cringey, just not from the direction Juno implies.

(Funny that Rick Astley was used as an emblem of embarrassing things from the past, seeing as he was this year’s Glastonbury hit…)

Many people are terrified of public speaking.

I'm always amazed at how confident men are that they, without a track record of speaking skills, acknowledged by peers or at least 5yrs in Toastmasters, can debate a woman who is known to be a good speaker. Particular if there's a halfway impartial moderator.

The handful of discussions or debates that have hampered have largely hampered the women by restricting topics, restraining language, unfettered aggressive and biased questioning etc.

Froodwithatowel · 05/11/2023 14:26

There is a difference between the seeking of a serious debate, and a random person, not representative of any group or philosophy or with any position of authority, having a confident belief that KJK would drop everything and present herself, panting to provide them personally with entertainment and attention. Hopefully with a large audience.

I don't think the lobby itself or its representatives want debate - it doesn't serve it in any way. And not everyone dying to hold forth on the subject to women is actually interested in either women or political beliefs.

ZuttZeVootEeeVo · 05/11/2023 14:30

Every debate point is one of:

  • modern science. Sex is more complex than we thought, therefore sex isnt definable or observable.
  • woman and men means gender not sex. Gender has more meaning for most people most of the time, therefore sex should be ignored
  • be kind. It's societies responsibility to to recognise and affirm identity.

Edit: i didnt know i could do indented dots!

MavisMcMinty · 05/11/2023 14:47

So, @AlphaTransWoman - are you going to phone in to KJK’s Terf podcast this week? Put her right? Counter her statements with dozens of finely-honed arguments that somehow aren’t suitable for you to post on MN?

I’d pay good money to hear that.

Then you can take on Helen Joyce.

Not enough popcorn in the world.

Syrupycake · 05/11/2023 14:54

And this is where KJK excels, she doesn’t get dragged down those argument rabbit holes, she repeatedly states the obvious. That’s a man and he should stay out of women’s single sex spaces.
my favourite quote from her is “I’m not a vet but I know what a dog is”

And “I’m not an astrophysicist but I know what space is”!

Helleofabore · 05/11/2023 15:17

The debate will be a farce. Because it will go like this:

Alpha: I am a woman because (list fluffy stereotypes) and I will only use female single sex spaces when I really have to!

Kellie Jay: You are male and nothing will ever change that. And female single sex spaces are for girls and women, which you aren’t. So stay out.

Debate over.

We have already had this fucking debate on numerous threads. The fact that this male poster thinks they can ‘debate’ is ludicrous. All they do is present emotionally manipulative arguments that most posters see through immediately.

But then as I write this, I keep remembering the humiliation and victimhood aspect at play here. The one that supposedly plays into those stereotypes and the denial that they are not just the same as those fetishists they mentioned.

And the motivation becomes clear again.

BezMills · 05/11/2023 15:21

Some men pay good money to get utterly humiliated by a strong confident woman. Mummy issues

Time to invoke the Bunnington rules

NeighbourhoodWatchPotholeDivision · 05/11/2023 15:55

ZuttZeVootEeeVo · 05/11/2023 10:06

TRA dont used platforms to change minds - they dont think highly enough of women to care about what we think. They use them as a means to perform 'woman' in front of an audience. Thats why wallis was drunk and flashing, because to him that what 'woman' is.

Its why they are so bad a debating - its not their aim. Its to show off their definition of woman - shaved legs, or clothes or sexual fetish.

Edited

Your post reminded me of this discussion of leg shaving.

Oops I meant the Bunbury rules

AlphaTransWoman · 05/11/2023 16:05

I’m not seeking fame or glory here. In fact, I could only debate if my anonymity was fully preserved - text chat etc. Given the volume of personal criticism I have had on this board over the past few days, the reasons for this should be obvious.

Her answer is spectacular.

As is her comment just before, 'oh my God, don't be ridiculous'.

The undisguised and quite involuntary contempt is breathtaking.

And that's one of the many attributes of KJK. She doesn't have to pretend. It's all absolutely genuine.

Which makes her good on her feet, because she doesn't have to think about her answers, particularly. It comes straight from the heart.

That's why TRAs come off so badly with her. They are pretending on so many levels, they have no hope of sounding genuine.

Not only are they pretending to be the opposite sex, and all the ridiculous affectations that it involves, they pretend to be victims, they pretend they're oppressed, they pretend they're deserving, they pretend they're not threatening or a threat to women's rights.

They don't stand a chance with her.

And yes, of course, any TRA knows full well they can phone Posie up every week and speak directly to her. She's the opposite of inaccessible.

But they won't.

Of course your anonymity could be preserved. Your voice, not so much.

You wouldn't be at risk from us though. I wish you no harm at all despite how strongly I disagree with you. Its the TRA's who enjoy threatening us, not the other way around

BezMills · 05/11/2023 16:30

Yeah the excuses. It's a phone in. You can give a fake name or no name.

Helleofabore · 05/11/2023 16:56

I would suggest there is a very rich fantasy life at stake here.
