And crowing about chasing two teenage girls out of a public loo - as Izzard did - was that necessary or kind?

Why should someone who behaves badly be lauded rather than - to use the modern parlance - called out? And why should we all have to clap along and be part of the enforced validation by saying “You look great” if we don’t think that at all? Why shouldn’t we be able to say that we find “woman face” (or dress) offensive?

Eddie seems to think his appearance turns him into the other sex. But weirdly enough, not into a woman of 60 odd years, but into a girl.

So I think it is fair to comment on his appearance, words, actions - the lot really.

He doesn’t just want to be free to dress how he likes. That would have been fine. He wants, no - demands, that the audience and public st large believes his lies about girl and boy modes.

Well no, neither do I really.

But I think what a lot of people are reacting to is the fact that if a woman of Eddie's age and general attractiveness went out dressed like that she would be ridiculed for looking like a dog's dinner, whereas because Eddie is a man people are pretending he looks great. He doesn't.

It reminds me a bit of the kind of people who act like a man is the dad of the century if he looks after his own kids at the weekend or manages to put a nappy on the right way round. As soon as a man does something that is a "woman thing", no matter how badly, he becomes better than actual women.

And women will line up to stroke the man's ego by applauding.

I think the use of "human rights" here is wrong; it becomes a way to evade the democratic process, and is actually an oppressive tactic to use. It's kind of like appealing to, "my god sent this command and you all have to follow it", "you can't question the commands of god can you?".

But if I had to guess, many of the people that speak this way are probably completely sincere that they think it's just another step in getting "equality" for a minority.

Indeed. Compare the media coverage of Izzard wearing a dress, to the media coverage of Queen Letizia of Spain wearing the same dress.
