From my link: "The report, published by TransLucent following the submission of 102 Freedom of Information requests to NHS foundation trusts, showed that not a single problem had been raised by fellow patients about transgender women on female wards in UK hospitals."

Personally I'm going to believe the FOI request results over a tabloid.

Omg leave her alone. What's honestly wrong with you. Nurses are human beings allowed to have politucal views. As long as she's not advocating violence or spouting hate speech.. just because it's not something you agree with doesn't make it OK to try and harass her about it. Would you do that if she posted a post saying she would never vote labour?

Sugargliderwombat · 05/10/2023 23:41

Deathbyfluffy · 05/10/2023 23:27

Yes, but as a nurse you just can’t post stuff like that on SM.

Is this true ? Im a teacher and anti tory posts really are everywhere on my feed. Just because you agree with the tory guidance and disagree with the meme this time doesn't mean you can suddenly report it anymore than you could report a teacher for posting anti Michael Gove memes however many years ago...I'm assuming?

popebishop · 05/10/2023 23:46

10 trusts were asked: “How many natal female inpatients complained that a transgender woman inpatient was being cared for in the same ward?

So - can you think of a reason why this might not have picked up a report of rape? Any reason at all? Ffs!

Secondly, can you think of any reason - any reason at all - why people might complain about this anonymously but not in person?

And you still can't actually look at data but which source you 'decide to believe'. That is at least consistent with the rest of your muddled posts. I actually struggle to believe someone is this lacking in critical thinking.

It's depressing to see some GC women eager to adopt the nastiest tactics of the TRAs. Stirring up trouble with someone's employer because you don't like their political opinions is exactly what happened to Maya, amongst others.

Comparing posting a stupid meme to murdering babies, and suggesting a slippery slope whereby, if we don't denounce every HCP who posts pro-trans comments to their employer, the NHS will - I dunno - be murdering children left, right and centre or something, is the sort of deranged hyperbole that dear India would be proud of.

Terfosaurus · 05/10/2023 23:49

I "wouldn't have been allowed" to post anything like this when I worked in (non nhs) health care
Which is why I never add colleagues as friends, keep all my SM private and don't list where I work.

14blackcrows · 05/10/2023 23:50

@MissLucyEyelesbarrow
I agree. You could find her post irritating and disagree with it.. or even think it's distasteful.. but to be asking people on an online forum wether you should try and get her fired for it is unhinged. (And no she wouldn't get fired for it, I'm an NHS worker. No one gives a shit unless it's actually covered by hate crime or harassment laws, or its some indicator of actual unprofessional behaviour you undertook whilst at work. My husbands a doctor and he posts politucal stuff regularly!!)

Rightsraptor · 05/10/2023 22:28

Very inappropriate if it's known that she's a nurse. I'd call that bringing the profession into disrepute.

Im a nurse and I would share anything with anyone but nothing with a Tory. They are destroying the NHS.

vibecheck · 05/10/2023 23:59

Doctors post things like this all the time about Tories.

CrushSyndrome · 06/10/2023 00:06

Its her FB, she can post what she likes

StaunchMomma · 06/10/2023 00:10

She's allowed an opinion. She's allowed to hate Tories. God knows I do.

As far as I'm aware, you don't have to declare your political affiliations to the NHS so how exactly are you reaching the conclusion that she doesn't provide equal treatment for all while working?

Seems like you're easily offended.

JayJayEl · 06/10/2023 00:10

If she had made a post about agreeing with the Torys' stance would you be equally as concerned, or no? My guess is the latter!

Hangonaminutethere · 06/10/2023 00:10

Boomboom22 · 05/10/2023 23:12

You should report her, surely its not appropriate for someone who transes their child at 8 to have access to others kids as a senior paediatrian? I wouldn't want someone who could do that treating my child, entirely different to politics which is opinion this is about a medical professional who should understand safeguarding and the cass review.

So, when your child is taken seriously ill and needs urgent treatment- would you refuse treatment by this doctor?!! Really??!! What exactly do you think they’d do to your child to “trans” them??!!!!
Ridiculous statement. I hope for your child’s sake you can climb down off that high horse if the time ever comes when the best person to treat them turns out to be trans.

CKL987 · 06/10/2023 00:18

oh ffs, there are some really sensitive people here.

SammyScrounge · 06/10/2023 00:29

FitAt50 · 05/10/2023 22:30

Nothing offensive about it at all. They are just expressing a preference..

Well we already know that the NHS is constructed round the demands of trans people. We already know that the NHS will permit the rape of a female patient and cover it up to protect a man playing at dressing up.

I hope someone reports that nurse. I hope she /he gets sacked because how can women feel safe in the care of someone like that.

CallieQ · 06/10/2023 00:35

DivingForLove · 05/10/2023 22:59

Of course nurses can make political statements on SM! FFS this place is mental sometimes 🙄

This

You have absolutely no right to report her... nothing to do with you

CallieQ · 06/10/2023 00:37

Do you have proof of this? How do 'we' know

LimePi · 06/10/2023 00:39

SHARE A WARD means share it as a patient, her role as a nurse is irrelevant in the context of this SM post so there is nothing inappropriate (nurses can be patients you know)
she did not say “i’d rather treat” etc

chill out

This is absolutely batshit.

Of course the NHS is not constructed round the demands of trans people, (it is constructed around the demands of the fat cats t the top).

The NHS covers up everything and anything, not just that one case.

Why would women not feel safe in the hands of someone who has an opinion? Should we talk about what the tories have done in term of poverty? And who are the principal victims of poverty? Women.

Some people on this site are competely obsessed with trans people, it's scary.

This poor woman should be reported and saxked for what? Disagreeing with you? She has the right to want to be in a ward with a trans person rather than a tory if she wants to. We are already having a NHS crisis. Firing nurses for dumb reasons won't help anyone.

blackpear · 06/10/2023 00:40

Don’t report her. Just don’t. Life is shit enough for people at the moment.

Stephannee · 06/10/2023 00:44

If it happened.

As per link above 102 FOI requests found zero complaints were raised by fellow patients about transgender women on female wards in UK hospitals.

NeighbourhoodWatchPotholeDivision · 06/10/2023 00:46

It's a stupid meme, but people are allowed to be stupid on social media.

Victim has reported it to the police, which is the appropriate place to report it.

What’s a “Tory”?
