This is a huge change from the BBC in how it's reporting on both Glinner and the concerns that he has on the impact of gender identity belief

Sorry not to add meaningfully to the thread, but just to say I'm gutted the transwoman IT Crowd episode was removed - it was one of the very best! (Not quite the best, as that's a stupendously high bar for such an overall high quality comedy series, but I'd say probably runner up. Do watch it if you can find it!)

Sorry - as you were.

Isn't it? 👏👏 This isn't a derail at all because it can be built upon.

I love all the series of Motherland (series one also being from Glinner as a co-writer) but by far my favourite episode is the pilot episode. Thinking about the opening scene still makes me laugh. And one of the main reasons it does is because the point of satire is that we get to laugh at ourselves while we laugh at life's quirks. I was laughing at Julia (main character) and with Julia because I completely get how it feels to be a frazzled working mum trying to juggle everything, sometimes nailing it despite all odds and sometimes not. I see the transwoman episode of the IT Crowd very much in this light. Also she (the transwoman) comes out on top at the end anyway. It's bonkers that it's been banned.

Can you still buy Glinner a coffee or was that activity cancelled too?

To add one more thought. I'm not a transwoman but, in the same way that I'd imagine women without kids or mums who don't work would, I found myself rooting for the transwoman as the story unfolded while also laughing along at the satire in it all. This is the hallmark of great comedy writing - empathy and relatability, even when it's not your own situation.
I've never been a man who has lost a wife to cancer, nor will I ever be, and I can't stand the C word but I absolutely adore Ricky Gervais' show Afterlife. It's all the broad same theme.
