Grooming is not always sexual.
Saying you are safe with me, othering families and parents, gift giving or emotional 1-1 all very much counts under grooming. Also doesn't only apply to underage people, anyone more powerful can groom someone.
For example in big companies CEOs might groom lower leadership to disregard certain laws.

The women who are trafficked into sex work are often referred to as being 'groomed'. I've seen it used as a useful shorthand for all types of undesirable behaviour. Usually vulnerable people being seduced into doing something that is detrimental to them.

The most genius thing the trans rights activists ever did was attach the T to the LGB. Stonewall were historically the good guys, they successfully lobbied for equal gay rights, so they must be the good guys on this too, right? I think that’s played a large part in the uncritical acceptance of all the mantras - #NoDebate #BeKind #TWAW etc.

So unfortunately if you voice concerns over the T, you are now accused of being homophobic, when T has little to do with sexuality (and the little there is seems homophobic itself, see also the “transing the gay away” jokes by GIDS clinicians).

LGB belongs with and is supportive of the T.

A couple years ago some idiot wore an LGB-Alliance (a TERF group) outfit to a pride event. The entire crowd made it very clear he wasn't welcome amongst them.

No dear. They don't belong together. They can support each other but they are not after the same goals or needs. Trying thinking a little instead of blindly following. It's a good life skill to have 😉

A young gay man was assaulted and robbed while out in public.

AFAIK he wasn't assaulted. Apparently his hat (with the name of an anti-LGBT hate group on it) was understandably removed as he was at a gay pride event, while dozens of LGBT people and allies chanted "trans lives matter" at him while he toddled off with his tail between his legs escorted out by a site volunteer.

Not entirely sure what reception he was expecting.

Trans ideology is deeply homophobic. It takes young gay women and tells them to cut their breasts off and take male hormones so that they can become - supposedly - straight men. It tells lesbians they must consider men as sexual partners, or be booted off dating sites.

The deep homophobia is one of the reasons so many of us, including glinner, despise trans ideology. (The other reasons are the misogyny, the racism, the child abuse and what's the other one? Oh yes, the utter fucking stupidity.)

Yes, definitely. I really do hope it's the start of some proper reporting from the BBC and not just a "see, we're not biased" nod before normal service resumes (apologies, with all the excitement in the middle of the thread I've forgotten who made this excellent suggestion)... one to watch to see how it unfolds over time.
