She's welcome to talk about her own views all she likes.

What she has done here is tell a community of people with form for attacking women who disagree with them that two women disagree with them.

You’re still essentially saying that the Bennett sisters should be lauded for these views, but Louise Nurding should just shut up. Why are the views of some women more important than others?

No one is sayin that. What they are saying, is that the Bennett sisters' views are none of the public's business, and it was not Louise's place to tell others.

Well they’re wrong.

If indeed they are their views.

I'm saying that she should focus on her own views and shut up about other people's, and especially shut up instead of telling a group known to contain a number of angry and aggressive "activists" that her two former bandmates do not share their beliefs.

If she doesn't know that that is what she has done then she needs to educate herself, as they say.

Well they’re wrong.

Why?

WomanStanleyWoman2 · 26/09/2023 15:34

Because their decision affects her career. She doesn’t owe them anything.

This. ⬆️

And no amount of Nivea is going to make that look good.

Her decision to shoot her mouth off potentially affects their safety, which is more important than her career.

and they don't owe her anything either but then they are the ones that are not shooting their mouths off spreading rumours about other members of the band.

Reading comprehension and logical reasoning are clearly not skills everyone on this thread possess.

Replace 'beliefs' with 'sexuality' and see if that changes your opinion on Louise's decision to publicly announce what she did about Easther and Vernie.

Well they’re wrong.

Why is it the public's business? Please be specific. Why should the public know ?

Because their decision affects her career. She doesn’t owe them anything.

It does not affect her career whatsoever to continue as she has been doing and playing solo gigs to LGBT+ audiences.

Yes she's lost the opportunity to tour with the band but frankly they could have disagreed on anything from the set list, musical production, costumes, tour timescale etc. One reason is as good as another and none needed to be made public.

The only impact on her current career by releasing this statement is to benefit her by weaponising the position of her former band mates to secure additional positive PR wrt her target audience.

It's a pretty cynical move and one that may potentially benefit her in the short term, but could have longer term consequences given the public mood and the fact she's blown off for good the chance of the band ever reforming again.

They don’t appear to be saying anything. That’s odd, considering some people on here are trying to claim that Louise Nurding has made the whole thing up…

I didn’t say the public should know - but can you give any reasonable argument for why they shouldn’t? If these views are as laudable as you suggest, why should someone they’ve let down keep said views a secret for them?

WomanStanleyWoman2 · 26/09/2023 16:21

Could have, but didn’t, so not relevant.

But according to you, they’re right. Why will they be unsafe?

BaronMunchausen · 26/09/2023 16:23

Because it will impact on their safety and welfare?

Why, if they’re supposedly right?

MangoAF · 26/09/2023 16:24

Is there any way to send a message or support to Easther and Vernie?

MangoAF · 26/09/2023 16:24

Message OF support

AccidentallyWesAnderson · 26/09/2023 16:26

Why, if they’re supposedly right?

Because there is a section of society who harass, bully, cancel, threaten violence etc etc to those who disagree with them.

Given what has happened to Roisin Murphy, it is pretty clear that she and her publicist knew exactly what they were doing.

I am unimpressed but then I am not part of her target audience. (I knew a neighbour of her from her Jamie Rednapp days, and she was apparently pretty tedious and dull, and surprisingly small.) I guess we now have lots more Strictly type appearances. But then I am beginning to realise I am not part of the BBCs target audience either.

Well we all have to stand up for our beliefs sometimes.
