Comparing TRAs being violent to religious people being terrorists is actually a reasonably valid comparison. Those who are violent are definitely in the minority, but you’d be a complete arsehole if you told the press “Hey, my ex friends just sent me a cartoon of the prophet wearing a bomb as a turban.” You wouldn’t need to think that ALL Muslims were terrorists to think that this might make like very unpleasant for your ex friends.

That’s comparable to what Louise did.

It really really isn't.

Basically it seems it's turned out to be massively inconvenient that no one was able to actually call the sisters bigots, because all they've done is hold perfectly normal views, and state what everyone thinks when they do some research and turn their minds to the hijacking of gay rights.

A simple search shows they have played Pride before: x.com/supernovalee/status/1706111159173059007?s=46&t=WHoOZ_3Kv5G6-FyQuvE0LQ. That would appear to back up what they're saying: they were fine with it before it was infiltrated by a movement hell bent on trampling over gay rights, and the safety of women and children.

Well written - I absolutely agree

And I say this, I hope the sisters bring out a new single, I will certainly be buying it.

OK, I'm sorry I said they're bigoted, without any foundation - just conjecture and intuition - I was thinking this afternoon after a caffeine-related vent.

Where is the evidence that Louise was bullied out of Eternal by the sisters? Pretty much as soon as the group had a hit single, Louise was being fawned over by tabloids and publications like Nuts Magazine, and tipped for a solo career. I wonder whether she ever wondered why she was the one who was picked out, considering she was little more than a backing singer. She clearly didn’t mind making a name for herself off the talents of women from a marginalised community back then, and has given herself a nice little career boost off the back of them again today.

Eternal’s best song was one they released after Louise’s departure - Power of a Woman. They’d have to change the lyrics to sing that one at today’s Pride.

Very glad to learn my guess about the sisters was wrong and they are not against same sex relationships (conjecture on my part based on their religion). It seems they are as pro woman/anti child abuse as the rest of us!

ResisterRex · 28/09/2023 08:08

I think this is overall really sad. They were once work colleagues (so to speak) but in a band, you assume it's intense. So to a degree they will not always get on but they must have got on well enough back in the day!

And this is what gender identity ideology does to relationships. Breaks them. Based on what we have in the papers, it does rather look like one of them went public with the views of others, to shame and chide them.

So many of us have had these kinds of experiences. It's just horrible really.

Louise has always fustrated and confused me. She was always presented as this sweet natured girl next door......but then it was her that drove the divorce with Jamie Redknapp - and the reasons she gave for that divorce seemed very superficial. Something to do with "Finding herself as individual"

Yet she always remarked on how supposedly happy she was with Jamie and her boys; and even years after the divorce she was still obviously very attached to Jamie and couldn't cope with the fact he had now remarried and had a new family. The newspapers and magazine always seemd to be full of " After my divorce I felt really sad". This seemd to go on for years.

I just thought it all very superficial and immature.

RebelliousCow · 28/09/2023 08:36

I don't think Lousie is any more of a trans ally than is Jordan Henderson. It is just what people who need to court public opinion do to find acceptance.

Needmoresleep · 28/09/2023 08:49

I personally doubt that Louise is very bothered about LGBTQ+. I doubt she has ever thought much about it. She has apparently been represented long term by a top publicist and personal friend, Simon Jones, who also represents Ant&Dec, Dannii Minogue, Matt Lucas and more. I had wondered why, over the years, we have had endless stories about Louise, how she ditched her husband, how she wanted him back, about her new man, and and and. (OK I should not flick through the Mail side bar of shame, but hey.) I had missed out entirely on Eternal, and Louise seemed to be just one of those people famous for being famous, with a slight curiosity about why someone in their 40s would ditch husband and family for a (non) career.

I doubt she is doing anything more than virtue signalling. You believe something because everyone around apparently does, and they tell you it is the right thing to do. You don't think it through, if your object is fame and "success". We all know what happens to people in entertainment/arts who defy.

She has crossed a line here. Even if she is too self-absorbed to understand that that press release carried risks for her former colleagues, the people around her and advising her would have known what they are doing. All power to the sisters. They sound a lot more talented and interesting.

It really really isn't.

Can you explain what the difference is?
