I would allow that there is some ambiguity: e.g. were they calling for violence? Or just admitting to behaving violently?
And yeah they could probably even try a "We didn't mean it literally" excuse. Violent language is used non-literally all the time.
But it's still language that easily supports violence in a situation where there is real world threats and violence being used against women. So you have reckless incitement of violence even if the author wants to say that they have been "misunderstood".
