Tough Crowd, due out 12 October. I’m delighted to see this. He is such a good writer and has sacrificed so much in defence of women’s rights and reality itself. Hope it’s a smash hit.

I have ordered from the publisher and had a lovely email thanking me for my support.

IcakethereforeIam · 14/09/2023 19:05

Can confirm, no postal charges if direct from Eye Books

I've just preordered from Eye books and there was no postal charge IcakethereforeIam

Hermittrismegistus · 14/09/2023 19:08

Oh ffs, misread the post and can't edit on the app. Ignore.

Mollyollydolly · 14/09/2023 19:10

Pre ordered from Eye books, it's brilliant that Simon Edge will benefit too. I bet no other publisher would touch it. Really pleased for Graham, I bet the pre orders are massive, most hard backs hardly sell any copies.

MrsOvertonsWindow · 14/09/2023 19:11

They're such fuckwits. They've failed to notice that their fascist oppressive tendencies have been noticed by the population who are cheerfully responding by purchasing every single artist who they try to bully. This will rebound on transactivists big time and it won't be pretty.

MyLadyDisdainlsYetLiving · 14/09/2023 19:11

Ordered from the publisher - happy to support both them and Glinner by paying full price.

WallaceinAnderland · 14/09/2023 19:12

The advertising for this book on X has been fantastic today. They're especially cross that so many on this thread are buying it. Streisand effect is glorious when you see it in action.

To those asking, Simon Edge said on twitter that any books ordered direct from the publishers will be signed.
I've just ordered from Eye Books, it didn't mentioned being signed, but I am hoping. Possibly will not be able to sign them all if thousands of people buy!??

I promise you that how ever many get bought direct from the publisher Glinner will sign. He'll see every copy sold as support to him personally, and given how much he's been through I believe that he really appreciates every last drop of support he gets. He will sign every last one no matter how many there are because he's an honourable man and grateful. In John Boyne's apology to Glinner, and in Glinner's own apology to Justice Dankula, Glinner behaved like a throughly decent person.
If you want to support him just a touch more consider subscribing to his substack, I think it's £30/year unless it's gone up.

Mine was #6730, ordered this morning. Very much looking forward to this treat. Sunlight and guffaws, what could be better?

Yes, it sounds as if that is correct. It seems that many people are ordering more than one copy too.

IcakethereforeIam · 14/09/2023 19:25

I ordered just before 7 pm. If anyone is familiar with publishing, is this volume of orders usual?

Pringlebeak · 14/09/2023 19:29

It's hit bestseller status on Amazon.

No, it’s not. It’s selling unusually well.

Brefugee · 14/09/2023 19:29

postage in the UK only is free. Outside it's expensive (45 quid to Canada in the twitter thread) so I've emailed to say sorry but it's being ordered from amazon and i hope that helps them.

IcakethereforeIam · 14/09/2023 19:29

😁

Bestseller

It's incredibly good. It's 1st in all his categories and 7th out of books on Amazon UK.
That's selling unusually for a hardcover book that's on pre-order and not even out yet.

#7861 😀

Bonkersworknonsense · 14/09/2023 19:44

Ah, I wondered about postage to Canada. It’ll have to be Amazon then.

Im so pleased for Glinner and that Richard Ayoade had a nice quote for him, and especially impressed with Ross as it can’t be easy times in his family with him being brave about this.

TheGreatATuin · 14/09/2023 19:46

Does anyone know when the kindle version will be out? I don't usually buy physical books any more, bit will be feeling very left out if you lot all get to read it before me. 🤣

lechiffre55 · 14/09/2023 19:46

Right now, and it will vary, if each order number +1 represents a single copy being sold Glinner's selling more than one a minute. And that's only off the publisher's website NOT including any Amazon sales. Amazon sales will be much larger than publisher direct, e.g. postage abroad purchases.
So right now that's probably at least two copies per minute.

viques · 14/09/2023 19:48

7863 reporting in. They are going to have a busy few days when it comes to packing and posting!

I very rarely buy new books, but to support Glinner it’s a small price to pay back a bit of what he has done for us. I might donate it to my local secondary school when I have read it.
