Tough Crowd, due out 12 October. I’m delighted to see this. He is such a good writer and has sacrificed so much in defence of women’s rights and reality itself. Hope it’s a smash hit.

I've ordered as well. Looking forward to reading it - I expect it will be blistering and hilarious.

StellaOlivetti · 14/09/2023 10:28

They are my publishers! I am so very proud of them.

Maaate · 14/09/2023 10:32

I can't see it as a kindle format just yet, but will be ordering as soon as it becomes available.

StephanieSuperpowers · 14/09/2023 10:33

If there's an audible version read by him, that would be great too.

Abhannmor · 14/09/2023 10:34

O Briain is a militant atheist and seems to have a carefully curated set of values which he bought as a job lot. Some religious people have reservations about giving puberty blockers to children. Pfft! What would these fools know?

But wait.....lots of religious 'folk' in the USA 🇺🇸 approve of puberty blockers. 'God gave us a little girl - not a gay boy. Praise be'

Meh , that goes on Dara's ignore list.

Pringlebeak · 14/09/2023 10:35

Delurking to say I'm disappointed to find out Matt Berry chucked him under a bus. I've always liked Matt Berry.

Definitelyrandom · 14/09/2023 10:37

Ordered direct from the publisher - not least because they'll get more of the profits than if it's bought from Amazon or Waterstones.

FloweryWowery · 14/09/2023 10:39

I've pre-ordered. Genuinely excited to read it - i know very little about him really. Still awaiting my Roisin Murphy CD. These talented people defending women and children are costing me a fortune!

But will that count towards getting put on a bestseller list? Waiting for advice. I know there are some publishing women on MN so waiting for one of them to notice this thread.....

I'm sure I read on Twitter that he's doing the recording himself! I'll be ordering that as well as my preordered hardback! Love a hardback but hearing Glinner's words in his own voice will be special.

Alleycatz · 14/09/2023 10:40

Preordered there, hard back no less. More comedy writing in book form after please Graham. You deserve all the good things.

loislovesstewie · 14/09/2023 10:43

Right, I'll try to pre order this.

bellinisurge · 14/09/2023 10:45

Kind of tempted to order on Amazon and give it a five star review after I've read it. To counter the inevitable bullshit reviews by TRAs who haven't read it

usernother · 14/09/2023 10:48

Christmas presents sorted

Positanoprincipessa · 14/09/2023 10:48

I don’t think you can review a book on Amazon unless you bought it on Amazon so the giant blue haired pronoun babies won’t be able to leave a one star review unless they part with their cash!!

Have preordered and can’t wait to read it!

Abhannmor · 14/09/2023 10:51

I'm boycotting Amazon. Probably ordering from Blackwells. Like other posters not sure which is best from a publicity angle ; a bookshop or the publisher?

FatherJackHackettsUnderpantsHamper · 14/09/2023 10:57

We all know that the TRAs will now be coming after RA for his praise of a brilliant writer for his brilliant writing abilities.

Like with JKR making very basic comments about women's rights and them morphing that to 'she hates trans people'. This must surely be the basis of #nodebate - as it's impossible to debate opinions and circumstances that only exist in your own head. I used to laugh at The Self-Righteous Brothers in The Fast Show, who would angrily tell of the revenge they would exact on people IF they happened to do a phenomenally unlikely act that would upset them. As fictional absurdist comedy, it was very amusing...

Do these people never feel at all embarrassed at showing themselves up in the spotlight with having no critical thinking or comprehension skills at all? They make me think of a pained wild animal with a thorn in its foot, who then tries to attack a person who is trying to remove it for them - because they don't know any better.

How can somebody so confidently and arrogantly pillory somebody for something they have provably never done? If they weren't so dangerous and believed beyond all evidence, I'd just be shaking my head and cringeing for them.

I am pretty sure you can.
You obviously can't comment on delivery, postage, etc. but content reviews are fine.
I'll be reviewing on there (5 stars) the second I could feasibly have read it. And I won't be buying it there

Jackydaytona · 14/09/2023 10:59

Thanks...just pre ordered it

Jackydaytona · 14/09/2023 11:00

I really recommend michelle wolfs new series on netflix btw...

MenopauseSucks · 14/09/2023 11:00

Ayoade's brother in law is Lawrence Fox so he'll be used to a bit of hassle!

Lilifer · 14/09/2023 11:09

I would love to buy this for my relatives and friends but unfortunately I have found that whenever I have brought up this topic they pay lip service to saying how dreadful it it is (maybe just to shut me up) and then rapidly change the subject, I send them links to articles and you tube interviews with GC people only to get radio silence back from them, they never ever get back to me to say oh yeah that was an interesting read/listen. It is like they would rather pretend it's all just not happening - and that really upsets me as I find it cowardly and I just wish they would wake the hell up, peak, feel the same way that I do!

The publisher will also need support. If these people think Hachette should bend to their will and ditch JKR, they'll for sure think they have the right bash the brains out of a smaller fish.

All power to Glinner's publisher for getting this out there.

Fubbs · 14/09/2023 11:30

Bought from the publisher for me, even though postage was £15 to RoI - eek!

Preordered from Amazon for DH for Christmas. (Ordered Roisin's album while I was there too.) I've never (deliberately!) bought two copies of a book before, certainly not a hardback, but happy to do this for GL!

Will also ask my library to stock it.

GrandmaMazur · 14/09/2023 11:35

Did Matt Berry throw Glinner under the bus? I seem to remember Graham saying that MB had been supportive. What did I miss?
