I thought this merited a separate thread instead of my posting it on the main 'Glinner cancelled in Edinburgh' one - happy to remove if not.

Andrew Doyle has just tweeted that, after a second venue cancelled the Comedy Unleashed gig with Glinner, the gig is now going to Holyrood.

And this is also very interesting: Herald Scotland ran a poll asking 'Should Graham Linehan's show have been cancelled?' Around 4000 people have voted, and the answer is... 97% 'No'.

I imagine that the TRA rent-a-crowd will be there.

I think all those "professional" comics who have supported the attempted cancelling of Graham should turn up and heckle him, it's their duty to their chosen cause.

What a scene that would be...barracking a fellow professional as scum.

Of course, they'd rather be "valiant" on Twitter instead.

I’d been despairing of Scotland and how given over it was to this utterly ridiculous misogyny. But that 97% figure made me cheer. Maybe there is hope for sanity, and adult-level thinking, after all.

Brilliant that the show is going ahead. It should never have been cancelled, of course. I hope it’s streamed and will tune in if so.

Honestly it’s a fucking embarrassment. When did comedy become so pedestrian and terrified? I can remember Ben Elton and the importance of taking the piss out of authority. The Young Ones giving two fingers to anyone who tried to tell them how to think. It’s completely bizarre to me that they have all cowed to these activists. Grow some bloody balls FFS.
