This shows the arrest of a teenage autistic girl by about 5 police officers. From what I can make out it is for a 'hate' crime. She apparently said a police officer was a Lesbian. Her Nan is a lesbian - that police officer is like my Nan.

I cannot comprehend the mindset of these officers.

Felix has allegedly spent 23 years as a response cop? Yet never read the relevant Police ( Conduct) Regulations given such an uninformed question upthread?

Here's a clue for Felix. Try looking up.

The Standards of Professional Behaviour
In particular see Schedule 2 of the Police (Conduct) Regulations 2020

How the Standards should be applied is contained within the:
Home Office Guidance on Professional Standards, Performance and Integrity in Policing, the up to date version being 5 February 2020

Discreditable conduct and duty to report said, might be of particular interest to Felix. It applies both on or off duty.

(So keen to constantly insert an alleged male perspective into a discussion between women. Yet so lacking in any in depth police knowledge)

It is not a crime to be racist, homophobic or judgmental. You can believe anything you want.
In most cases, it is legal to express those views, even if others find them
offensive.

So all of the cops who have been prosecuted or lost their jobs by sending such 'offensive' tweets in Whats App groups - should they keep their jobs?

If you can’t see the difference between an autistic 16 year old calling a lesbian a lesbian, and a bunch of police officers circulating pictures of 2 corpses or fantasising about raping a colleague, I’m not sure I can help you 🤷‍♀️

The fact that you apparently don’t understand the difference is the most convincing evidence yet that you are actually in the police. Sadly.

SinnerBoy · 16/08/2023 16:35

Well, Lucy - you've said what I was thinking. Also, if coppers share racist, misogynistic and homophobic banter on their work What's App, it doesn't give the public the feeling that they act without fear or favour.

Thanks for the link, @Hoardasurass

One of my pals was a cook in the army. He retired with a decent rank (Lt Colonel). I overheard him telling these Norwegian lads he was a sniper in the SAS. Yeah nah, he served our country proudly, but he wasn't popping heads in the SAS. He cooked for them though.

People say all kinds of shit in the pub. I'll let it pass generally. Doing it on the interwebs is sad. And I should know, I was the CiC of 67 ParaMarine DeathKill Company for 54 years.

All these people slagging off the police. I wonder who they'll call if some raving nutter with a knife starts trying to kick down their front door at 3am this morning? 🤔

I'd call my neighbour to pop over with his dogs, be quicker and more effective

ReginaRegina · 16/08/2023 23:41

I think an armed copper would be more effective too tbf. A dog is going to nope the fuck out of any encounter once it gets stabbed, with the possible exception of a game bred pitbull. __

When that actually happened the police said they were too busy to attend.

Thankfully there aren't hordes of knife wielding nutters so I very much doubt it would happen. The chances of it happening to someone who doesn't have anyone to fall back on must be incredibly low. Could just grab a box of matches since strawmen are very flammable

WhiteFire · 16/08/2023 23:51

Tbf when there was a knife wielding nutter outside a neighbours house making threats to kill an ex partner the police went to the wrong house and declared it all quiet.

It was quiet at that house as he was still yelling in my road and he hadn't yet smashed the house up that they had gone to.

So I'd ring the police and then hope they came.

ReginaRegina · 16/08/2023 23:55

Fact is, despite all the media frenzy about rogue cops, the vast majority are normal people. For every newsworthy violation of the public's trust there are thousands of everyday crimes being dealt with in the background. All this trans/woke nonsense is just a tiny speck on the landscape, barely registers in the bigger picture.

I have family in South Africa and they'd laugh if I tried to dramatise the state of law and order in the UK.

All these people slagging off the police. I wonder who they'll call if some raving nutter with a knife starts trying to kick down their front door at 3am this morning? 🤔

But that's the thing, we rely on the police to do these things, and in order for that to happen we need to trust them.

Let's say for example you called the police because someone is trying to kick your door down. You are vulnerable, upset, say something not illegal but could be taken as an insult if you squint very hard and they arrest you, and physically hurt you.

Is that okay because they came out when you called?

Or the woman who thinks she was raped in police custody. If that turns out to be correct is it okay that she was raped because the police came out when they were called?

So we have a police force but if they wrongly arrest you on a whim, hurt you or rape you you aren't allowed to complain about it because at least we have a police force?

If you give people extra power they need to he held to higher standards of responsibly otherwise that power can corrupt. So yes it's okay to be angry when they get it wrong, because they have a higher risk of causing harm when they do.

ReginaRegina · 17/08/2023 00:02

I mean, feminists were the original pioneers of the identity politics that preceded and laid the foundation for wokeism. They pretty much wrote the rulebook that the trans lobby have now co-opted and used against them.

Before people were getting reported and sacked for 'transphobia' they were getting reported and sacked for 'misogyny'.

It's the uncomfortable truth that most feminists aren't prepared to acknowledge.

Statistically, though, you're far better off trusting the police than the general public.

That's statistically not true, it really depends on the statistics and the situation.

Families of police officers have higher rate of experiencing domestic abuse whilst the officers themselves are less likely to be convicted of domestic abuse

So no, statistically they are not more trustworthy if you are in a relationship with them

Besides which, who decided the police were more trustworthy than doctors, or teachers, or data analysts? Why are we supposed to trust them more

Where are the statistics to back this up?

well seeing as the police closed and sold our towns station and now the nearest station is over 30 mins away, if some raving nutter with a knife tries to kick my door down at 3am it’s highly unlikely a phone call to the police would be much use! However our 3 dogs, the 2 big ones would probably attack as a team and the little one gets under your feet and is a constant trip hazard, the golf clubs at the front door, the baseball ball bat at the back door (big into sports me) and the lump hammer under the bed (also big into DIY) I’d rate my chances of getting rid of said nutter about 24hrs before the police could find the time to turn up

Angelwings77 · 17/08/2023 01:03

Although if all I have to to do is call them up and say one of their officers looks like my lesbian nana and it’s guaranteed they’ll turn up immediately and mob handed maybe I can move all my sports and DIT equipment to the shed!

I'm an HCP. Is it OK for me to abuse an autistic child, just because people need me if they're having a heart attack?

Well that's you told, Ladies. If you hadn't started, with your pesky demands for the vote and not being raped in marriage, perverts would never have started dressing up in women's clothes.

Seriously - you’re saying that feminists “identified as women” rather than actually being women? And therefore minimising the genuine discrimination and harm women suffer as a result of actually being women?
That’s a disturbingly convoluted stance.

The first rule of misogyny: Women are responsible for what men do.

Hoardasurass · 17/08/2023 08:17

@ReginaRegina are you seriously defending the police's action in this case by blaming women for wanting sexually predatory men who abuse their power and position to lose that power and ability to sexually assault and humiliate women with their misogyny?
