Stickering

I sticker regularly to raise awareness and they all get removed. Why is this? Other stickers aren't. Why can't people express their opinion? Took great pleasure in ripping down the Trans rights poster that's just appeared in my neighbourhood. If my stickers are removed, so will their poster.

Also one of my recent stickers. Back of toilet door in services. A bizarre advert for young girls to be reading!

I agree with previous poster back if the loo roll holder us a fab location.

I travel up and down motorways a lot and always sticker the loos, including the one with the horrid inclusive sign outside it somewhere near Bristol.
I'll be in Hebden Bridge next week.....

That is one of the first times I ever saw a sticker in the wild, at a motorway services on the back of a toilet door. Back in 2020. It made me smile and feel much less alone during a period where there was still no debate allowed.

Nicely done!

Helleofabore · 11/08/2023 10:44

I think Hebden Bridge needs ribbons! Lots of ribbons!!

Helleofabore · 11/08/2023 10:46

I confess to stickering political party posters at election times…

Interested in your thoughts on my (and others) comments earlier that stickering in a public bathroom is just making work for a cleaner doing a difficult job for minimum wage - and who's likely female.

Outside where graffiti or posters are left to decay, fine - I don't think it's a great thing to do but apart from making somewhere look less nice it doesn't actually matter. But I do think any stickers or graffiti that will create work for someone else is a bit of a shitty thing to do.

Do you remove all the stickers you see @JenniferBarkley , or just the ones referring to women’s rights?

Most of the stickers I see have slogans protesting against fox-hunting, Covid restrictions, the Tories or environmental damage.

I forgot to add another thing I have done in the female toilets - expressed milk and dumped it! Sure I expressed it in the cubicle. Can you fucking imagine though the comments of a male walked in and heard the pump?

I mean, from reading the social media of prominent transitioned males, we already know they listen and mock women’s toilet noises. Because they do it gleefully online.

And no, I fucking would not want to be rinsing the suction cup and bottle in front of any male above the age of about 8.

I even know women who have breastfed in female toilets because they don’t want to breastfeed in the public view.

But hey… women just “pee” in the toilets and hey… unisex toilets are so great!

No need for any fucking privacy and dignity at fucking all!!

Hang on. Let's remember that women who need additional privacy don't exist apparently. Or maybe they should stay at home. Or something because women and their needs are inconvenient truths for people with lovely trans friends and for people who believe that they, whether male or female, get to tell all women and girls who they should share their single sex spaces with.

I find it even more hypocritical that that other worn out old trope of trying to shame women by saying "Who are you to decide which toilets someone uses." I mean, the hypocrisy is rife. Someone who is ideologically driven can decide which toilets someone uses, yet the women and girls who have different needs to that person and state their needs cannot 'decide which toilets someone uses'.

should be

I find it even more hypocritical that that other worn out old trope of trying to shame women by saying "Who are you to decide which toilets someone uses" was rolled out.

When you consider this statement fully and its implications, it is misogynistic. It comes with the implication that women who have needs cannot have any say in who uses spaces that were intended to protect them. That their needs are not the priority, male people's needs are the priority.

As I said up thread.

Once you start to see all the distortions, the dissonance and the tactics, whether intended or not, you cannot unsee them.

Helleofabore · 12/08/2023 15:22

Maybe @Kit7 would be interested in reading this paper.

jaapl.org/content/33/1/16

'A recurrent pattern of sex offending suggests the ingrained nature of deviant sexual interests. Orchiectomy alone, without attendant psychological change, may be insufficient to mitigate sexual recidivism in a person who is in the community and subject to temptations'

'For those individuals who harbor entrenched pedophilic or sadistic sexual preoccupations, the removal of the testes without accompanying cognitive‐behavioral interventions may leave potent psychological risk factors in place'

'As Hansen and Lykke‐Olesen27 noted, surgical castration is a treatment of symptoms and not a cure. The latter must be emphasized, as orchiectomy in high‐risk offenders may create an artificial sense of safety. This is not to suggest that the existing orchiectomy data are of no value in current sex offender risk assessment. Rather, the risk analysis should reflect a prudent application of the orchiectomy data to the assessment of the individual sex offender.'

And then assure us that the % of males who commit sex crime will be safer just because some of them reduce their testosterone. Because we know it is NAMALT. The issue is that the % seems to be the same whether they are trans or not.

Who are they to decide which toilet they use?

It is such a misogynistic, male power play.

Well, there's been a development. The poster I removed has been replaced - and the billboard next to it. Doubling down. I removed them. A guy was watching from across the road and gave me a cheers and a thumbs up.

I just passed an electronic ad board in Shepherd’s Bush with ‘no pride without trans pride’ (same visuals as the posters near my office). Who is paying for this?

washingsomuchwashing · 13/08/2023 12:31

These are the posters I've removed. (I'm also sick to death of being bludgeoned over the head with Pride, let alone Trans Pride. The community I live in couldn't be more diverse. We don't need year-round rainbows and Pride references.)

I’ve never heard of a ticketing before, but surely it’s just vandalism? Stocking stickers on supermarket trolleys, bins and other objects that don’t belong to you is vandalism.

PandaExpress · 13/08/2023 18:57

I love the idea of stickering! I'm going to make some with my daughter. I know that she will enjoy that small act of rebellion. She's 10 and is really conscious of the progressive propaganda being pushed on children. It was actually her take on it all that peaked me. She will love this!

PurpleGreenandWhiteAreTheNewPrimaryColours · 13/08/2023 18:59

You're free to sticker
Others are free to remove them

Think of it as counter stickering

PorcelinaV · 13/08/2023 20:47

Has anyone made their local paper for a "hate crime"??

So, ‘A trans person peed here. You survived’ is now considered a useful counter to female people wanting single sex spaces to remain single sex and not single gender?

These male individuals really don’t care. Those male people with trans identities who do care, and we know that they are plenty who do care, they don’t use female single sex spaces. The ones who do use single sex spaces, they will never understand why they shouldn’t.

I would be tempted to get my pen out and write "man" and "marked his territory".

TheHappyCarrot · 15/08/2023 10:11

They had all those stickers made and all I think is 'shouldn't there be an apostrophe after the second 'e'?'

Hope he didn't drip on the seat.
