Presumably she read the medical report!

The effects of cocaine last 15-30 minutes. She was in custody for 40 hours.

But even if she was "off her head on cocaine" - what relevance does that have?

Which night? She was in custody for 40 hours.

So by your logic we may as well legalise date rape if you automatically dont believe a woman who has drugs in their system has been raped

Its possible for her both to have taken cocaine and been raped.

The police have the missing footage, they are just refusing to release it to her. How do you explain that?

Pixiedust1234 · 26/07/2023 14:21

tryingtobeagoodhuman · 26/07/2023 14:06

Which part don't you believe?

I think Round should just state they believe the woman was asleep in the shower and that it was probably all a dream.

Then we can get on with ignoring them. Just another sick wind up merchant I assume. Would like to be proved wrong though.

I think you are probably right...

You won't be. This area of the site is full of these.

It's not as though there are not enough dens of rampant misogyny elsewhere on the internet to satisfy even the most ardent woman-hater - nor sites where gender critical subs have been removed but some really unpleasant incel regions have flourished.

You wouldn't get me on such a site at gunpoint. But they just can't resist infiltrating into women's spaces - even in cyberspace.

I think I remember coming across Zayna's story a good few months ago on Twitter. There was a video of where she did an interview in front of a live audience. I remember being shocked at the time when she was talking about what happened to her. I was surprised that it hadn't been picked up by msm but I'm glad this has finally got coverage.

She's very brave to take on GMP, with all the spotlight and the negative, vicious misogynistic, probably racist, crap that will come her. I hope she gets the answers and the justice she deserves.

BellsMoon · 26/07/2023 15:19

I misremembered. It was her solicitor talking about it.

I just am staggered at how idiotic the police are being, as well as all the rest of their horrific behaviour. Did they really think that supplying the video footage in jumbled up order, with 3 hours missing, would go unnoticed and unremarked upon by Zayna's legal team? That no one would spot the massive omissions and inconsistencies in the log compared to the video? Or that no one would connect the report from the hospital to the 2 days that she was in custody for?? Or that there might be independent CCTV footage of the police outside with the van?

Having watched the Sky news clip linked, I am haunted by the look on Zayna's face at the point where she looks up at the CCTV camera, it is absolutely the face of a traumatised, terrified and desperate woman.

GrannyAchingsShepherdsHut · 26/07/2023 18:47

I see in an article in the DM they've said

GMP told MailOnline today it had submitted a challenge against the report based on the grounds their right of reply had not been upheld. The force said the statement given to Sky News had been provided over a week ago and was potentially factually incorrect.

This happened in Feb 2021. They made a statement a week ago. In what way is that not a 'right of reply' ?!

Do they actually mean 'we didn't realise you were going to prove we were lying, that's not fair! If we'd known we would have told better lies!'

Feckedupbundle · 26/07/2023 20:05

I believe her.
What would she gain by lying? It must be completely humiliating to have to go public with what happened, and have people judging and doubting her.

We all know that the police have form for going after women that they perceive to have put them in a bad light, why would she invite that sort of attention?

I've had to have a talk with my teenage daughters about what to do if stopped by the police. It's not something that I thought that,I as a law-abiding,middle class, white woman would ever have to do. But here we are.

dimorphism · 26/07/2023 20:40

Yep, teaching my daughters not to trust the police too.

newrubylane · 26/07/2023 21:11

This is horrific. How can an internal investigation possibly be the appropriate course of action in these circumstances? This isn't just about procedure not being followed or someone objecting to the behaviours of a specific officer, even. None of GMP's actions or justifications seem to make much sense. Even if she wasn't sexually assaulted (I think she probably was), she was clearly traumatised as a result of her arrest - unsurprisingly. How can that be ignored? She wasn't treated with dignity or even in a way I'd call safe.

RoseslnTheHospital · 26/07/2023 21:24

Zayna is clearly reporting that a crime has been committed against her, but I have no idea how that can proceed anywhere if the perpetrator is a current police officer or officers within the police service that the crime is reported to. How can there be any possibility of GMP investigating any of this properly?

Ereshkigalangcleg · 26/07/2023 21:27

I believe her.

PostOpOp · 26/07/2023 22:37

The police are stalling, trying to figure out who will be the sacrificial lamb, aka One Bad Apple.

But because Zayna has been so brave and de-anonymised herself to spread her story, they're in a pickle.

She's shown that it's an entire rotten barrel, not a lone bad apple.

I believe Zayna.

Datun · 26/07/2023 22:42

I believe her.

Datun · 26/07/2023 22:43

Show us the missing three hours. Ffs.

Intercrapper · 26/07/2023 22:44

Boiledbeetle · 26/07/2023 10:58

Bloody hell!

After her release, Zayna went straight to hospital. Her medical report states: "Miss Iman does not have any prior history of mental disorder, she has been admitted with an acute psychotic episode which has resolved without treatment. It is highly likely that this is drug related to 'the date rape drug' which led to a sexual assault." Medical records also indicate sexual injuries.

If nothing happened why haven't the police given her ALL of the footage???

Wow this is horrific
