My concern would be should she now pop up on the fringes of government. Iain Anderson, the current chair of Stonewall, defected from the Conservative party to the Labour party earlier on in the year.

Which means he is very pragmatic and focused on being on the inside with whoever is in government.

As I recall, his move occurred around about the same time that politicians who had previously been assured of inside influence and been able to rely on behind the scenes agreements started complaining about the loss of their cosy back room deals.

There was also talk of the need to get back to “good old-fashioned British fudge” to resolve the conflict between women’s rights and TQ activism.

I’d suspect this has been planned for some time. They are getting rid of the women who were in post when the damage to the brand occurred so that they can get back in track with pursuing their agenda.

She was also CEO of NatCen before Stonewall. They were selected by the women's equality party to run a member consultation. It was a complete mess, with the results surpressed for ages then ignored. She had gone by then but obviously we know what they wanted the results to be.

So she contributed to the dishonest trashing of that enterprise too.

I've just searched Stonewall's website again. Nada. So much for their global campaigning when Uganda has just made being L, G, or B subject to punishment up to and the including death.
