Has there been any statement that anyone is aware of from the RCM regarding this? If not why not?
A man removing a baby from its mother to attempt to force it to suckle on his own nipple is also abusing the mother and putting both her mental and physical health at risk, interrupting the mother/infant dyad. Her breasts will fill as she hears the baby cry. She will feel anxious and distressed. She may suffer engorgement, blocked ducts , could develop mastitis and if it isn't treated promptly could progress to a breast abscess or even sepsis.
The role of a midwife is to support the mother and promote and support breastfeeding (unless the mother has chosen to bottle feed) and it is completely unacceptable to support a man interrupting a woman's lactation and relationship with her baby.

Is there more than one child involved?

I'm asking because apparently there was a breast pump o the side in the water charges video.
Now, that would suggest it's still in use when the child is quite a big toddler, when the majority have finished breast feeding.
That bothers me, how sustained it is. The toddler is likely to have self weaned by this stage. Both mine certainly did.

I’d be inclined to think there was some deliberately provocative placement going on, especially if they were always planning to release this photo.

I saw the other thread this morning and was curious about the poster saying that men absolutely could breastfeed because her male dog was breastfeeding a litter of kittens? Never got a chance to see how that unfolded. Or maybe other posters didn’t push her for some more information instead choosing to look the other way and not feed the insanity.

It went about as well as you’d expect among a group of women who very much understand biology.

Apparently the breast pump belongs to his house mate, who has a five month old baby.

I think it is inevitable at this point that we are heading towards an enormous backlash. This kind of thing is so dark, so obviously unacceptable, that if I were a tin foil hatter, I would argue that it's some sort of psyops.

I hope a lot of people have seen it and it has opened their eyes to what the full implications are to safeguarding when the magic cloak of transgender identity is invoked. Imagine Bob the Builder showing off a photograph of himself with an infant latched on to his nipple? The outrage would be instant, and this should be no different here.

I used to think it was a bit hyperbolic when I read far right accusations of perversion and paedophilia in this movement.

Then you see this. And people are actually defending it. The drip drip effect seems to be working in changing definitions, normalising child abuse.

Im starting to wonder what the 2023 definition of child abuse is? I definitely think that in 2013 a man forcing a baby to suck his nipple would be classed as child abuse.

It’s interesting that those who want to be seen as liberal and inclusive are actually the ones doing the censoring and deleting. Once you stifle debate because of agenda you’re on a path towards cancel culture.

From what I’ve seen on FB this is being largely accepted. Akin to surrogacy (how wonderful that gay couples can have children).
We’re so far down the rabbit hole that a man letting a baby “breastfeed” is ok.
There’s so much shit being accepted though that I’m really not sure what will peak people for once and for all. I’m embarrassed for so many people now.

Without reference to specific threads guess MN has to be careful about posters (like me) speculating on the sort of company an individual might keep.

Men breastfeeding is not a new thing. Before formula was a thing, widowed men occasionally managed to induce lactation to feed their babies.
