Did anyone notice she mentioned the witch trials of jk Rowling was well balanced? It seems like that's quite a controversial thing to say seeing as anything remotely positive about jk must make you a transphobe.... All her work on menopause must mean she knows what a women is?

She hasn't actually stated any sort of position. I think she's always been very firmly TWAW in the past. She is not daft, though, she must know that the rainbow children are going to have a tantrum. She still has plausible deniability, though.

I'll be interested to see how it pans out. Even if she says nothing else, it will be a step forward if she just doesn't delete it or apologise.

I'm interested to see, though, because Rev Richard Coles said the same a couple of months back and got a heap of 'this is so disappointing' tweets from TRAs. It rarely got worse than that, though.

Davina seems to very much be supportive of trans women are women. Publicly at least. Whether she believes this privately or not who knows.

I guess she can be twaw and support jkr... although not sure that's allowed....

Woman's hour had a piece on recently about some research into whether girls recovering from anorexia should be given body identical hrt to protect their long term bone health.

We are going to have a generation of women who thought they were men with severe osteoporosis in a couple of decades. From What Richie Heron describes, also men.

I hope she doesn't back down and promise to educate herself. I really think if she lets the TRA cries die down (if/when they come) then it'll blow over. Enough people have done the groundwork for her to tough it out.

She has picked up a couple of transphobe accusations now, but it's not that terrible.

Maybe that will embolden her to a tentative and uncontroversial opinion of her own at some stage?

She's hinted several times on various podcasts that the word woman includes trans women.

There is, of course, the possibility that she just liked the podcast. That she liked how balanced it was (it actually was) and sees it as a first step to the sort of moderate middle ground we are constantly told we need to find.

She'll find out that's a unicorn now. She'll find out exactly why we can't compromise.

I think she is quite 'be kind', but she also probably realises this has all gone too far to preserve women's rights.

Maybe she thinks it is possible to hold both positions?

This may be a long peaking journey.

Which is kind of a double whammy. Lots of TRAs will be very upset that she is engaging with Buck - even without the content of her reply
